Pokemon anime's lack of ideas?

I certainly think that the creators of Pokemon could really put in more effort for stories in the anime. The Kanto, Johto and Hoenn League had good ideas, but Sinnoh just seems like a repeat of Hoenn, a new girl starts her journey, she loves contests, follows Ash. Ash starts over putting all his decent Pokemon except Pikachu behind. Team Rocket showing up in like all episodes trying to steal something, but somehow, usually get blast off.

Since so many people like it, (so do I) you would think they will want to get better ideas. Maybe even a new main character, some evolved Pokemon, TR not getting blast off by starter Pokemon with like almost no experience or one grass move wiping out Seviper and Cacnea.

They can't make things too complicated or the young audience will have no idea what its about. And no way! I'll never support having a new main character(if u're talking about replacing Ash...)

A new plot would be OK. But the voices need to exact the script for the US since the anime is a tad more mature in Japan. I hope the new Voice Director considers this. A new plot would improve this. As long as Team Rocket doesn't lose comedt of Pearlshipping starts pulverizing. I just watch the anime for the cool action and comedy. Which to tell the truth, Overpowers it's push factors.

Then again, adding more mature comedy will get the show 5 stars.

Well what if they tell a tale from two main characters at the same time? I thought it would've been awesome way back when Ash met Richie in the Indigo League, if they had of made Richie a main character as well, seeing as he had similar Pokemon to Ash, looked the same, and had the same attitude.

I really think that they should atleast add some more plot points in, maybe it will become more interesting later on, I mean although I just got back into watching the anime at Sinnoh I watched some of the battle frontier and Hoenn saga and if I am correct the battle frontier from what little I saw was quite interesting they should expand further. In addition I feel the next games will take us back to johto and maybe there will be another johto saga of some sort

They can't make things too complicated or the young audience will have no idea what its about.

It's easy to assume that kids wouldn't understand a more complex or darker plot. But instead of trying to go on a whole tangent about why kids are underestimated, I'm just gonna give you two words of advice. Watch SatAM. It's sheer proof that decent plots don't faze younger audiences. No... Just watch Avatar. That's proof enough (even though Aang's made some dumb decisions in my opinion, and I'll admit that). Trust me, kids are alot more intelligent than people give them credit for.

Deviating from the games is a step in the right direction. But they really need to drop this stupid League concept. Once is alright. Twice is... ok. Three times is... too much. Four times is just plain redundant. That's one of the main reasons so many FanFic writers and critics hate Trainer Fics. They always seem to focus on the League, and it's boring.

They don't have to deviate totally from the games. They could have the same towns, the same Regions, and the same evil Teams.

But above everything else, they should focus on coming up with a real villain. And I don't mean Paul. Paul's a good antagonist and he's a great rival, yes. But he's not villain material. They need a good villain that can actually put the heroes, cities or Pokemon in real danger, while maintaining their antagonistic standing beyond a mere two or three episodes. In other words, an entire season or story arc using this as the central focus. And it needs to be someone that can actually measure up to even Legendary Pokemon. Maybe this villain could even be a Pokemon (though that's not necessarily required). THAT would make a good plot.

And one more thing. I don't think it's necessary to change the main character. Becuase even Ash has proven that he can adjust to the situation at hand. And if things became more serious and the world was in danger, we'd see his character make adjustments just the same as anyone else. So it would still work.

I hate using Dragonball as an example, but it sort of fits here. Remember how Goku was in the first two seasons of Dragonball, before King Piccolo killed Krillin? He was cute and carefree, but he still wanted to be the best. After Piccolo killed Krillin, his composure was gone and he got way more serious. The point is, Ash and the gang are capable of the same emotions, with the proper motivation. I'm not saying kill anyone, because there are plenty of other ways to get their composure to change. Going back to SatAM, the characters in that were serious when they needed to be, but they still got a laugh out of the audience from time to time. I'm just saying it's possible. It can be done.

Ash is a good character and all, but his journey seems pointless if he always restarts and puts all his "decent" pokemon behind. Seriously, do any of you want to see Ash competing in the Sinnoh with Pokemon that seems less impressive than the people who are first to get out of the matches.
    Something like this always happens:
"Pikachu tackle" there goes the Rhyperior through the sky. Pikachu wins the round.

I believe that this season is much more original that the previous ones. For example, Paul released Chimchar and Ash caught it. Dawn and Ash, two major characters, traded Pokemon with each other (the kid Jessie's Lickitung went to was not a main character). Jessie actually won a contest, while Dawn looses in the appeal rounds. There have been so many changes in roster recently that the rate of party fluxuations is unprecedented. Would you rather Ash kill everyone with Charizard, Sceptile, and Snorlax? He leaves them behind because they already had a generous amount of training and it is logical to focus on newer, less powerful ones. He keeps Pikachu because it has been traveling with him for years and it is his favorite Pokemon.

This season has been more interesting, but they have a lot of things they do in the story to make it interesting. The just choose that trading a Pokemon is more important than something more big happening. Maybe the reason that the anime so not very much loved by some people is that the does not seem to be much of an effort from the creator, even though so many people watch it and love it.

I think That Jessie from Team Rocket should go. She should leave after going to Johto to enter contests then, and them a few episodes later, James and Meowth leave. Then Maybe the series could progress more.

I like TR, but they are extremely annoying at times, i just wish they disappear or plan something that works. Trying to catch different Pokemon and failing a million times is getting a little boring.

TR should be like master thiefs and steal rare and exspenive items and Ash will have to find them instead of them just showing up.

I stopped watching Pokemon, once they ended Johto Region. I have seen some Hoenn, Battle Frontier, and even some DP episodes but it doesn't compare to the first two seasons.

The first ones were worth watching, so is some of the new ones. I do like Pokemon series even though it is getting boring.
