Pokemon fans are toxic and difficult to please because they don't know what exactly what they want.

I know Pokemon fans wanted a more mature game to cater to adults but they are so difficult to please like sonic fans who are also difficult to please.

Toxic: Disagrees. Cannot really recall many bad experiences with the Pokemon fanbase, personally. Sees people with their own opinions, sure. Comes across strongly sometimes. Would not call that toxic, though.

Certainly exists, of course. Pops up in most (if not all) fandoms, from sports to music to games. Increases in likelihood when competition is introduced.

Difficult to please: Will never please everyone, especially with as large of a fanbase as Pokemon. Sold over 25 million units of Scarlet/Violet by June 2024. What does a fanbase that large really want? Enjoys the series for different reasons: catching Pokemon, battling, music, art, and so on. Inevitably hits just right for some people with each new entry. Rubs some the wrong way for the same reason. Either changed the game in a certain direction (gimmicks, too much water, Dexit, excessive tutorials, ...) or failed to change it enough (following the same gym formula, too easy, ...).

Finds displeased people in every big (and likely small) fandom with new entries. Bets on plenty of people hating Breath of the Wild's direction for Zelda, every World of Warcraft expansion, the next Civilization game, the next Fire Emblem game, and so on. Expects the same for Generation 10 too, even if it is Pokemon's magnum opus. Might be right there with them on some changes. Considers that okay...provided said fans do not take it out on others.

I disagree that the Pokemon fandom is particularly toxic, there's a small portion that's overly entitled / demanding for sure. But overall most people just want key features from previous entries brought back (eg: the National Dex) and for GF to have more time to make a quality game instead of having to rush out a buggy mess every 3 years. And as Devalue mentioned, the Pokemon fandom is huge. If we assume there are roughly ~30 million Pokemon fans (SV sales plus ~5 million for people who are fans but skipped out); even if only 0.01% of fans are "toxic", that's still 300,000 people. More than enough to comprise a vocal minority.

I disagree as well. I think only a small percentage of the Pokémon community is actually toxic. And then, exactly what Devalue said. People play the games for many different reasons, you can't please everyone. Taking into account the fact that the fanbase is also very large, that's even less probable.
Then, yes, there are many fans that harshly criticizes the games when they come out, but that's normal. The effect is bigger with a larger fanbase, I suppose. In addition to this, the latest games have some objective reasons to have been more disappointing. So, the harsh and shared criticism has definitely reasons to exist. Not to mention that usually criticism can also not be negative, if taken properly and then translated into the games.
