In all seriousness, until we get some evidence confirming it, we'll just have to sit and play the waiting game. If you're asking me, I'd say it's not a matter of if we get gen 7 but when, but I don't know any more than anyone else, so don't take my word for it.

I heard a rumor that it might come out next year. In Pokemon X and Y sometimes in one of the hotels a guy comes and says you should check out his region, and it is not any of the previous regions

(Yea there will most definitely be a Gen 7. Pokemon is one of the most successful franchises of all time, I have no doubt that it'll even go beyond Gen 7. As long as there is a Nintendo (and GameFreak) there will be Pokemon. On top of that, game sales are up.)

PKMN is still a very strong franchise, so I doubt it'll be ending anytime soon. But I doubt Gen 7 will be coming out next year or two. Gen 6 is still pretty new and it kinda feels too early for a new generation to roll out. :/

Well tbh this is one of the more well-growing franchises, so an end would be really unlikely.

At this rate, I think next year's game would possibly be Z or X2 and Y2. A Gen7 would most possibly come out in 2017, and possible remakes coming out in the year after, or so I think. The third version/sequels of that gen would be in either 2019 or 2020. Or maybe the creators will surprise us and do both a third version and sequels, but only time can tell.

Pokemon is Nintendo's biggest game behind Mario. Letting it die would be foolish.

Looking at it strictly from a business standpoint is more than enough reason to continue the series and games. Include the fanbase's love and adoration for it all, it is all but guaranteed to keep going on for years to come.

...idk. at this point we have 721 pokemon and 48 mega evolutions. honestly I think that's enough. they should start creating new games with new features that don't actually include new pokemon. 721 is honestly enough.

I'm pretty sure there will be a Gen IV, Pokemon is one of the most lucrative franchises for Nintendo. They can still create new generations with a lower amount of Pokemon, that was proven with Gen VI only having 70 new Pokemon. It is hard to imagine the total amount exceeding 1,000, but if the figures are high and the demand is there then I can't see a reason for them not to continue developing new games.

I don't think it'll end anysoon. Heck, pokemon is famous now. Playing it now means you are cool. When I first started it, I got those weird looks "you're a bit dumb", nowadays it's like you're geek-cool. Heck, I've seen three guys with poké-tattoos now and they weren't from the first game also!
It's not going to end any soon. Maybe if it was 2000 again, we could have this doubt. But now? Nah. X/Y and OR/AS (despite having "too much water") sold really well.
