[Idea] Pokemon Gigaleak article brainstorming

There's been a lot to digest the past day, and more on the way! So we're considering articles on the leaks as we did for gen 1/2 leak info (and also SwSh that one time).

That said, some things we won't currently consider for articles:

1. Any leaks on future/to-be-released titles. (Besides, a lot of it is speculation.)
2. Nothing on the mature content 'lore' stories, because that's not really fitting for Daily and many of its readers. Nor do I want to write about that sort of thing tbqh!

Potential articles, with some names. Feel free to sign up (even if someone has already, co-written articles are fine), suggest other articles, etc! Needn't be done right now too, but obviously sooner is better.

  • Seeing people say "we were robbed" for a lot of these beta guys when 1. scrapping ideas is a natural part of the creative process and 2. if we got these beta guys we probably wouldn't have some of the well-loved 'mons we have today for example if we got that gen 3 scraggy, well it evolves into grovyle, so who knows how treecko would have turned out if that was the case. Can also explore why people in general think "what we didn't get is better than what we actually have" psychologically (reminds me of people saying fanmons are "always" better than real ones, or that palworld creatures are "better than real pokemon" even tho they are blatantly just pokemon traces)"
• Why no design art books? An article about how TPC(i) could have, or still could, released art book(s) about designs, concept art, etc for the games. Other video game series do this - Pokemon more does guide books with some art scattered in. Maybe Rivvon...?

How about an article about the leaked anime proposals, too? As well as the portion leaked about Ash's departure? This leak goes beyond just the games. It involves the tcg and animations also.

I don't know if I'll write it, but it deserves a mention.

I'm open to it if it is strictly stuff that doesn't involve upcoming games/content... so maybe not the anime proposals because as I understand it that includes stuff that may still happen, and also spoils Z/A stuff.

Also not something I'd write myself, so would have to be someone else keen for it.

What about the leaked concept art and that video of all the anime production stuff that isn't from stuff that never came out? From what I understand, those movies are also in development hell. But, I understand if it shouldn't be included.

If it's confident they are legit and don't spoil any future thing, then sure.

While it's harder to fake images, I'm also wary about claims about directions the anime should have gone, movie plots, etc. Apparently discussions regarding ways the anime with Ash could have ended is now under doubt. But that of course applies to any text from the leaks.

Considering we have gotten like four alternative versions of the Sinnoh / Creation myth, none of which are anywhere as "dark" / "mature" as basic 8th degree Greek Mythology (lol), it'd probably be interesting tosee an article taking them in order and studying the evolution (heh) of the myths behind the scenes.

Operative word being: "order"... As far as I've checked we have not gotten any sort of indication of which versions and features were added or considered at what point, and it's unlikely we'd get a definitive list. The best bet ATM seems to be checking which names and types in the legends have changed (eg.: the Lake Trio has had different names, Palkia's typing was considered for changing twice so far).

Intro
Treecko line - Highlight how Grovyle had a different colour scheme and a pre-evo that wasn't treecko - it was a Scraggy-like Pokemon! And Rock/Flying to boot - maybe a Fossil mon. There's also a third colour scheme of it.
Mudkip line - Feature water bunny. Mudkip line developed by a few months later going by art leaks from ages ago. Not much else to say
Torchic line - Highlight odd ears it had, and then Blaziken - we got a new sprite that matches old dev art showing something akin to a Lati@s and Blaziken merge, and these two must have been separated. But now we know how late this was still a thing! Plus we have this version:

I am a bit tempted to do an article about beta music too... Either a general one pointing out the cooler stuff, or maybe one more focused on Goldenrod's theme because that was a contentious remix in HGSS, and the beta version of it that came out was... pretty similar? While we got some more varied/experimental other tracks, or some clearly 'dppt soundfount tests/reused frlg version' tracks, for other town themes/etc. Or both. But we'll see.
