Pokemon glazed help

Okay so i am really enjoying this game up to the point when i go to the ilex forest in pokemon glazed. I get done battling jasmine and whitney who is standing in front of the secound trainer in the gym when you walk in the gym runs up befour i get my badge and goes on about a fire and needing help so anyway i rin to ilex forest and battle alot of team fusion to het between Whitney and jasmine to fight the leader of team fusion and .....nothing they just stand there. Why? What do i do? I can't move on in the game umtil i fight regina so help me
