    ok this might be a stupid question but ive read faqs and it said after you beat roxanne (stone badge gym) you are able to cut certain plants down with hmo1...but when i go to a tree all it says is "this tree looks like it can be cut down" help?

    You need to actually have the HM01 first. Then you need to teach it to a Pokemon. Then you need to have that Pokemon with you when you examine a tree.
     
    i did use hm01 on one of my pokemon already..and i have him with me too...i tried putting him first too but no difference
     
    ...Did you actually beat Roxanne yet? Are you even playing the real game or are you using a ROM?
     
    im playing the actual game not the rom...and yes i beat her...what ability is hmo1 again?
     
    HM01 is Cut. I dunno then, You should have no problems cutting things. Maybe your game is screwed up or something...

    And where is Roxanne ever even mentioned in the FAQ?
     
    is hmo01 fury cutter? cuz one of my pokemon has that ability...roxanne? isnt that the name of the stone badge gym chick?
     
    No...HM01 is not Fury Cutter. It's Cut. Fury Cutter does not cut trees. Roxanne is the Rustboro City gym leader. You get HM01 from the Cut Master from the building to the left of the Pokemon Center...you never even HAD HM01 DID YOU?
     
    i coulda sworn i got it from the gym leader but ill go back and check..thanks
     
    Roxanne doesn't give you HM01...she just gives you the badge that gives you the ability to use the ability HM01 outside of battle. You get HM01 from the Cut Master in the location mentioned in my above post.
     
    um you probably taught the wrong thing if you got thatt thing from Roxanne. HM01 is cut and the thing you get from Roxanne is the TM for Rock Tomb.

    No you do not. You just miss out things here and there but you can beat the game without it.
     
    But i thought u had to cut that tree right next to the safaria zone...isnt that the only way to lilycove?
     
    No, you don't need Cut to get to Lilycove. You can just walk there. I never even noticed a tree that could be cut along that area.
     
    It is right by the safaria zone...to the right when u about to go in it
     
    Erm..you don't need to cut that. You can just walk down the stairs and the start heading to east to Lilycove. There's a small section you can walk through between the 2 sets of stairs,
     
    ooo...i didnt notice that..everytime i got to that i would go bac to the pc n get som1 that i thought cut...
