Just as the name suggests, this is a place to talk about Pokemon The First Movie, your favorite parts and some parts you didn't like. Have fun!!

im not gonna lie. when i was like 9-10 when that movie first game out in theaters...i cried when Ash got turned to stone. i really did. now i look back and laugh, but that was a monumental movie for a young pokemon fan such as myself. i still do love that movie, and own it on VHS tape (haha...back when those were all we had) to this day

yeah, but Mew was funny, on that wheel thingy

    Mew....Mew!...Mew!

My favorite part was when Ash got turned to stone lol...he just yelled stop and and fell. I laughed, had paused it, and went up and down from the bathroom because of his expression. Mewtwo hardly cared XD

I always liked this movie. Even up till today, this is one of my favorite movies. It had good battles, but it gave an impression that battles were a bad thing, but i still loved this movie.

I defitianly remember this movie, and I remember wanting to see it days before it came out in theatres. I have seen it twice in the theatres.

Ah...that movie still brings a tear to my eye, guess i'm an emotional guy(not EMO omgg) haha. The japanese voice actors are way better than the english one though. They're much more natural and use the right tone given the situation. That 'u gotta stop right now' part sounds so awkward in english : \

Oh man, I love that movie. Good old VHS tape =3
But I cry almost everytime Ash turns to stone. Funny thing is... I don't cry over real life, lol. =3

Do you know what's funny? The fact that even on the commentry over the movie they got Pidgeot's name wrong XD They still called it Pidgeotto

Mew had an adorable voice, I loved it so much. I wish it had the same voice in the 8th movie. But I thought that "brother, oh brother" song was cheesy...

The only thing I hated: "Pokemon can't cry tears" but you see them do it all the time in the anime -.-

Man, that managed to bring a tear to my eye. Especially with my friends around, I had to suck it up XD

It was the saddest part but my favorite part in the whole movie. I think they did a very good job capturing the emotions.

    Didn't you leave forever?

But, yeah, the capturing of the emotions was amazing, I'll agree with you there. Great movie, but I still prefer the Power of One over it.

I like this movie way more than any of the other Pokemon movies. Awesome battles, emotions, some funny dialougue. The only Pokemon movie that comes close is the one with Entei, because Charizard rocks.

I laughed when Ash turned to stone. XD

I will not deny, my favorite part was Pikachu's Summer Vacation before the movie started. XD

It's my favorite movie. I like the first part and I know there is a radio drama about that part. They couldn't have all of it in the movie, though, probably because it would be too long. In the radio drama you get to know who Musashi's mother is and who was the Rocket boss before Sakaki.

The music is very dramatic when they clone Mew and when Mewtwo awakens (as an adult). I also like the music when Mewtwo and Ai talk with each others and that's the saddest scene in the movie. And yes, Ai said onlly humans cry when their feelings are hurt, but I think she also sad tears bring life, which explain how the Pokemon revive Satoshi later.

This is the best site to find information about this movie: https://www.geocities.com/soulofaitwo/index.html

They have bios of Mewtwo and Mew, some manga scans, both the movie and the radio drama translation.

There are also different versions of the movie; one on VHS and one on DVD. The VHS version has better animations, but it's very rare. If anyone knows, does the DVD box include the VHS version (but on DVD of course)? I think it does, since it says "theatrical edition" and that's very close to the VHS version, isn't it?

when i was 4 i went to see this in theater(in england we got a limiterd edit shiny pikachu card, any americans get that?), it was good, that was when four kids made the movies, there was a bit more action, also, in the year 2001, i saw pokemon the movie 2000 in cinemas(shouldn't it be called pokemon the movie 2001?) that was and still is to date my favourate pokemon movie ever. also we got a special shiny mew card that was in the movie.

I never seen it but now i seen it from getting a awesome deal for the DVD at Target, anyway the movie was pretty good not bad in my opinion.
