Hello, everyone! Apologies for the wait, some aspects of the game are taking a bit longer than expected. Despite this, Rank Up Edition is coming along at a nice pace! At the moment, the main goal is to finalize designs for new Pokemon and bring older sprites closer to par with other newer sprites.

Here are a few examples:

In addition to these changes, certain Pokemon sprites have been altered, as well. Since there are a number of regional variants in Pokemon This Gym of Mine, I wanted it to be easier to tell at a glance what variant a Pokemon will evolve into.

Take a guess what variants these Pokemon will evolve into:

There has also been an effort to add in Pokemon and moves from the newer titles, Legends: Arceus and Scarlet/Violet:

Speaking of new Pokemon, here are some brand-new additions to Pokemon This Gym of Mine: Rank Up Edition!

Frijian Arcanine: The Sanctuary Pokemon
Ghost/Fairy
Believed to be a Trainer's beloved Pokemon, it took this form upon their passing. It guards graveyards from thieves and other mischievous Pokemon that would disturb their resting place.

Endurant: The Queen Ant Pokemon
Bug/Steel
When local Durant populations grow too dense, one of their brood evolves into Endurant. It quickly sires new Durant to completely subjugate its territory. It quickly becomes a pest, if not brought under control.

Opulite Lucario: The Aura Pokemon
Dark/Fighting
Bred for protection and fighting, Opulite Lucario was seen as a violent Pokemon by nature. However, as more people began to raise this Pokemon, it proved to be a loyal and loving Pokemon, defending its family with little regard for itself.

Obsidollusc: The Obsidian Pokemon
Rock
Experiencing cooler temperatures have caused some Magcargo to undergo a strange evolution. Trading its incredible heat for shards of brittle rock, it slashes and splinters them to damage oncoming attackers.

Poppatch: The Suit Pokemon
Ghost/Normal
Having added various scraps of cloth to itself, it roams through the night, hoping to finally make a permanent friend. This is ill-advised, however, as what becomes of Poppatch's friends is unknown.

Opulite Stunky: The Perfume Pokemon
Poison/Grass
Despite being just as rancid as its cousin, Stunky cannot withstand its own spray's scent. To counteract this, it sprouts flowers on its body. Due to the potency and longevity of its smell, it is studied for applications in various perfumes.

Wuvdisc: The Soulmate Pokemon
Water/Fairy
Upon finding a suitable mate, Wuvdisc intricately dances with its partner. Even should the two be seperated, they will mark their reunion with the same dance.

Egreskiss: The Collective Pokemon
Psychic/Ghost
Egrekiss is formed by the unified thoughts of a group of people under incredible, concentrated psychic energy. It grows sad when hidden and becomes lonesome quickly.

Getting away from Pokemon for a second, Umbal City's Commercial District, which will become available in this upcoming update, is receiving a major rework! In Rank Up, the Commercial District unique buildings will be scrapped. In their place will be 3 city projects! These projects will not only increase your revenue, but will have other uses for you to utilize! Stay tuned for more info as it progresses!

Finally, I would like to tease one of the Business Trips that would become available during the next update. To recap, Business Trips are similar to vacations, letting you visit other areas of your region, but with special events and storylines, such as one that ties into the story of the Even Badderlands!

Spoiler: Business Trip Teaser

Connections to the strange and baffling Even Badderlands have been discovered in various locations away from Umbal City. With the aid of Reginald, discover what you can about these access points, including stories of new and strange Pokemon appearing nearby!

Some of these Business Trips will have unique rewards, such as not normally available Pokemon. One of these is a special Pawniard with the ability Promotion, letting it assume its stronger Queen form upon defeating an enemy Pokemon!

I have been toying around with Hisuian Pokemon, so you might see Kleavor, but Scizor would definitely be much later.

I think it means Kleavor will be available earlier then Scizor, like Scizor would be more of an end-game mon. If that makes sense?

Although I could be wrong, but that's how I interpret it.

Hey! I just finished the rank up version and I absolutely loved it! Thanks for sharing, I highly appreciate your work :)
I just wanted to play the "basic" version, but when I try to run the game.exe this error shows up. Did someone else has this issue? Maybe its connecting since its now an GBA Game?

Hello, everyone! Sorry for the silence, Calculus has been a very demanding subject this semester. But I am not here to discuss my academic career. I wanted to talk about Pokemon This Gym of Mine, specifically v4.2.3. For a while, I've been receiving messages from fans wanted to translate TGOM into their native language, add new Pokemon, etc. I've always been encouraging of people modifying Pokemon TGOM as they see fit. To further encourage this, I have released a FanDev version of v4.2.3 on the Discord. In addition, a space has been made on the server for people to post their mods and share them with the community. If you are interested, feel free to check it out. PLEASE READ THE MODDING DOCUMENT BEFORE POSTING. IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

Aside from that, Rank Up edition is coming along smoothly! It has mostly been finalizing Pokemon/moves/abilities and mapping, so nothing that I've felt is worth posting a progress report over. Since it has been a while, I wanted to go ahead and give a few highlights:

Due to Rank Up edition using original moves for Gym Signature moves instead of recognizable moves like in v4.2.3, it can be pretty hard to tell what Pokemon can be used for what gym. To help remedy this, Rank Up edition v0.3.0 will add a little marker next to a Pokemon in the Pokedex to help you tell at a glance if it is viable for your Gym Type!

Earlier I talked about the changes to the Commercial District, that being the projects you can work on to boost certain aspects of your city and will have other benefits, as well. One of these is the Park! Upon completing it, it will give you access to new Pokemon not normally available in game, such as Budew and Ponyta!

Of course, what would Pokemon This Gym of Mine be if we didn't give you new ways to work on your Gym? In v0.3.0, you will gain access to new items that you can place in your Gym's rooms, Gym Props! Each Gym Prop influences the kinds of Trainers you will encounter, so mix and match and see what works best for you!

Finally, we've discussed new Pokemon, but what about new moves and abilities? Here are some new moves and abilities you can expect to see in v0.3.0!

Spoiler: New Moves

Gravity Well - Psychic:
Does damage based on the target's weight! Also, sets up Gravity on a successful hit!

Atmospheric Noise - Normal:
This move's power and type changes if an Atmosphere is currently active!

Vile Sting - Poison:
A move that poisons the target AND prevents them from healing for two turns!

May I - Fairy:
A pesky move that steals the last move an opponent used, replacing itself with it and preventing the target from using it!

Spoiler: New Abilities

Grappler:
Increases the damage dealt by binding moves and length of time they last!

Warding Bell:
Removes the party's status conditions upon entry! A rare ability on only one Pokemon in the game!

Tick Off:
Increases the user's Attack as they take damage!

Hold Fast:
Prevents the removal of entry hazards

Unnerve:
Has been newly buffed to prevent the use of ALL consumable items, not just berries!
