    I'm not sure if this in the right section.

    Well anyway, in HG/SS they show every character that was in the past g/s/c games and even revamped and renamed some characters like Red has his FireRed sprite and Green has his real name finally, but it makes me wonder why they didn't include the girl that you can choose in FR/LG?. Even though she wasn't in the originals, it wouldn't hurt to have her in the game as well.

    They added kotone because now you can choose from boy or girl, so why not also battle the female from FR/LG?

    I don't know about you but it would've been cool if you fought her also at the entrance of Mt. Silver as a warm-up for Red but her pokemon being at around lvl 75ish and also giving her a Blastoise instead of Green(which makes me wonder why he doesn't have it in HG/SS).

    Well anyways your thoughts?
    I haven't read the latest updates of the game so please no flaming towards my opinions ^^;

    Blue should have been in the remakes. She's never mentioned much in the games...
    You know what? Personally I really hate Kotone, she's fugly. No joke. They should have brought back Kris somewhere in the game if you can't play as her as well.:/

    I honestly wouldn't care what happens, but yeah they should of added her as a warm-up at the beginning of Mt. Silver or some part of the game to battle or not to battle.... xD

    O.K guys, does this girl ring a bell?

    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Trainer Blue?

    This is as close to Blue as were gonna get.

    And we already have the female role in the game (Kotone).

    So suck it up, princesses.

    This is a G/S/C remake, not another R/B/Y remake.

    If you want to see Blue, play FR/LG.

    Urgh.

    This is the one thing that annoyed me the most about HG/SS. The fact that they did not include Leaf, who in my opinion is one of the most underrated female protagonists I've seen in Pokémon. To me it would have made sense that if you were to have played as Kotone, then at the peak of Mt. Silver you would be battling against the female Kanto heroine. But it really puzzles me just why they didn't add her at all; they might have tried to stick to the traditional layout of the predecessor games, which doesn't make too much sense to me since there's been quite a few changes here and there that brought it beyond the point of keeping it traditional.

    It's because RED's team is based off of a possible Yellow-version team where he has a Pikachu and all three starters (along with one Snorlax found along the way to his championship and a Lapras given to him at Silph Co.). This means that Blue (rival, not female) never got one of the Kanto starters, and instead got an Eevee which he obviously stopped using between his defeat at the League and his time as a Gym Leader.

    I absolutely love Leaf, just throwing that out there.
    But in all seriousness, Red is the original trainer, and Leaf was kind of just thrown into FR/LG to have a female playable character in the games. Red and Leaf never even bump into each other during FR/LG. Simply put, there's no reason for her to be in Mt. Silver.

    Yes it is true that Red's team resembles more now of Ash Ketchum's party back when he just won the Orange Island cup except that his starters are all fully evolved in this one.

    I made a mistake I looked back at the old GBA games and Green/Gary doesn't have blastoise I thought he had it ^^;

    Still though I mean they added so many new features it would've been cool to at least battle(doesnt have to be Mt. Silver it could be pallet town or a secret cave like how they introduced Giovanni in HG/SS like a special event).

    I was looking at her bio and Leaf/Blue does have a pretty good team: Wigglytuff, Clefaible, even a Ditto.

    ...Ya'know, they could have placed one of them in each game. Like you fight Red in Heartgold, and Blue(or Leaf whichever you prefer,) in Soulsilver. That, would have been awesome.

    However placing Red in one version and Leaf in the next would only subside which game players would purchase. Meaning, one game could be purchased more than the other leavnig Nintendo and Game Freak short on income after spending over enough to include two versions like they traditionally do. Yes, they do version exclusives for Pokémon, however in the case of a main character needing to be defeated at the end could leave a different mark on the games.

    As for the counter female to Red from FRLG, I think her inclusions would have been quite beneficial. Whether they replace her over Red depending on if you choose Kotone as your character or not, or simply including her in some part of the game. It would have added something more to what is already given.

    Just imagine what could happen in a cave with Kotone and Red. With nobody around to hear Kotones cries for help. And yeah he's like three years older than Kotone so it would be hard for her to fight him off. He'd probably keep her in that cave forever so she can satisfy him whenever he wants it. That would be horrible.
    ...what the Christ? Do you really think Red is a rapist or do you just have a sick mind?

    Anyway, I wouldn't mind Leaf being in the game somewhere else. Come to think of it, I'd rather have Leaf in where Red is currently, while Red be moved somewhere without hail.

    Have you ever read the manga? Red isnt even close to a rapist, plus are you a pedo? I mean hell there 10 and 13 (Even though they look more like 15-18). Also I agree with most previous comments, though I think that Blue/Green should have been somewhere in Kanto, maybe in Pallet Town or something.

    It would have made sense to put her in there since it's meant to be a sequel to FrLg as well as a remake of HgSs. I mean I'm not going to boycott the game or anything just because Blue isn't in there, but it would have been nice for her (as well as Kris) to make a cameo appearance and possibly be battlable. Oh well, maybe in another game they'll make a cameo.

    lulz i like the trolls. :3

    But no, even though I like Leaf's character design, she isn't necessary at all and girls would just be dumber to beat up. :< It's a G/S remake anywho... I don't know, a girl champion was enough for me. :P

    Guys guys please no foul languages there's no need for that ^^;

    Any of you geniuses remember that this is a G/S REMAKE?!?! WAS THE GIRL FROM FR/LG IN G/S?!?! NO, SO QUIT COMPLAININ' ABOUT IT!!! SHE'S NOT THERE, KRIS ISN'T THERE, AND YOU'RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOUL!!! You already have a bunch of added features, just be happy with that!! God, I hope a Moderator closes this thread!! You're all a bunch of f***ing babies!!

    Hmm was Giovanni in G/S? nope
    where there 3rd and 4th generation pokemon in G/S? nope

    Clearly its not a fully 'remake' but it does take place in Johto and Kanto in which happened in G/S with so many new features. And the reason that Blue wasn't in G/S is because FR/LG were made later, crystal introduced the gender options.

    For a kick-off, she is named Blue in the manga. In the games, she is named Leaf. Since they are two seperate canon, they are not the same character. I'd just like to say that this annoys me before I get to the point. People all over the place moan about the absence of a certain Pokémon on Red's team because he had it in the manga, or Ash had it in the anime. They are not the same characters in any way, shape or form. Why is it so difficult for people to understand?

    Anyway, I do like Leaf as a character, but I do believe the games follow a canon. Hence, HG/SS is played from the point of view that they happen after the events of FireRed. Thus, she never would have existed if Red was the main character.

    I admit, it would perhaps have added a new dimension to the games if she was included, but it doesn't make a difference that she isn't there.

    It might be due to the placing of her as a character - she appeared as an alternative character in FR/LG, solely because by then they had the male/female choice for the player become the norm, ever since Crystal. She was essentially put in because they kinda 'had' to (it would seem odd if suddenly they stuck so much to RBY in the remake of it to not allow the player to choose their gender, which may have... 'offended' some players), so that may explain the fact they don't really like to use her. (And possibly the same of Krys/Marina/whatever-people-call-her-now - she was inserted in Crystal, not GSC, just as an extra feature in the middle of the generation).

    That, and perhaps they felt adding her in along with Red, or even outright replacing her depending on the character you choose would have taken away from Red, who was in GSC *the* final boss, the guy everyone wanted to get up to - they certainly seemed to show that, IMO, by keeping in, and even going with the old-style pre-battle animation of the pixelated Pokeball appearing before it cut to the battle...

    But whatever the reason/s, it's been decided. Which may be a pity, especially for the fans of her, but ultimately I can't say I miss her too much, myself, nor do I feel that it's wrong that she is missing from the GSC remakes, even if they added some new features - overall they've kept pretty loyal with GSC, so I can't say I'm surprised they stuck to Red from GSC.

    Now that I think more into it, Leaf's missing appearance, or in this case unneeded appearance may have been the cause of that she was only the female counterpart to Red. So having Red and Leaf within the game might have been a bit sided as they are the same characters, but counterparts of one another as some have stressed upon earlier.

    Yes, it would have been a cool twist to things depending on how she was implemented within the game, but nothing has changed about the game having her not in it. So, whether she was in or not, no difference has been made thus far.
