    *~Pokemon Years~*

Over the years, Pokemon has become a video game success. Lots of people play them, and continue to buy the games. Back when steel and dark types didnt exist, to today when people can trade Pokemon online.

Things have definetly changed, and mostly for the better. It is also, that their are Pokemon websites (Points to the top of the page) that are extremely useful. Such as PokeCommunity. I would like to say thank you to PokeCommunity, and other sites such as this one.

If you want to, you can thank PokeCommunity here. The next question I have is, did you ever notice that they have still not stopped coming out with Pokemon games? Thats great! But what about those other games? The ones that started it all?

Every time a new game comes out (which you know is going to happen) I feel as though their was no point in the game im playing right now, which is Pokemon Diamond. Then I feel that I shouldnt play it because a new one will come out that I will eventually get. Sign here also, if you have never given into this, and you have played the same game no matter what new Pokemon Game comes out. I know that not many people do that.

In conclusion, I feel that coming out with new Pokemon games it awesome, but at the same time makes me and probably others, feel that their is no point playing the game you have now, unless your not getting the new one that will come out.

All in all, thank you PokeCommunity and everyone here who has been helpful, no matter how pointless my questions were. I hope this community stays like it is now, and maybe will only grow bigger and better.

    Thank You All~

I still play all my games even though some are old (gold, blue...). What you explained happenes to me, but only for like a week, then I go back to my old games as well as the new ones. *I probably didn't explain this well, though...:/

I play my blue version a lot thanks to glitches. :)
I think Pal Park was made so that your GBA Pokemon games had some involvment in Pokemon D/P. That way, you could play R/S/E/FR/LG, catch any cool (legendary) pokemon there and then trade them to the DS games.

    I

I just feel that, when they come out with a new game, I HAVE to get it. Or quit. Because, then you can get all the new pokemon and stuff.

Like in rby. The reason I dont want to play that is because crobat exists right? How come it didnt evolve in RBY? Because it didnt exist. Well? Lol, which one is it?

I'll never forget my first pokemon game, ruby. I couldn't find rock smash so I just trained my swampert and zubat for hours. My Swampert grew to around level 43 before i found rock smash (just off of the wild pokemon) and zubat finally evolved. My only experience w/ pokemon was the original 150's trading cards, so at level 23 when golbat started evolving, whoa I thought it was a glitch! I was freakin' out until I realized how many new pokemon have been added. For some reason, every set of new pokemon makes me like it a little less. I still love pokemon, it's just I'll never forget when I had every single card except Articuno. Oh, memories...

Me, I'll never forget when I ran away from nearly every battle in Yellow, but I still felt happy. And also, I'll never forget when I also used to defeat the Elite Four when I had my uncle's Gold, and he let me have it, which really DOES deserve a remake.

Well everyone, since im such a perfectionist and im so annoying when it comes to pokemon..Anyone have a suggestion for what game I should play?

I only own 2 of the games right now, Yellow and Gold. I remember buying a game boy colour just so I could specially play Pokemon. Gold is my favourite game, I havent played it much in the last few years but Im starting to get back into Pokemon with the upcoming release of D/P (Im from England, July 27th release date). Im slowly struggling my way through finding out about all the new Pokemon. I always like new Pokemon, but now the list is close to 500 (493 so Ive heard) its just so hard to keep up with it, considering Gold is the latest game I have and that I went through a few years of no more Pokemon until a few weeks ago. I do miss the days of the original 151 Pokemon, but at least there is a lot more to do on the games now. 5 days and counting to get Pokemon Diamond/Pearl! I still need a DS as well lmao.

I´ll never forget when a friend of me showed me Pokemon Red and a few minutes later, I loved Pokemon. That´s about 7 years ago, it came out at the same time here.
And I also will never forget, when everybody was talking about and almost everyone was "addicted" to it. Unfortunately, this time is over... Want to go back to the past xD
I grew up with Pokemon and have lots of nice memories of it, so I think, I´ll always play it and buy new games... But I think, the first, original Pokemon games will be still the best of them and not even Diamond or Pearl are better. New things in the games are cool, but the original was and will be better, that´s my opinion.

Lol, I dont know what it is but Pearl and Diamond can add WHATEVER features they want, and have it all 3D and best graphics yet, for the Wii if they wanted to, and it STILL wouldnt match up to R/B/Y and G/S/C. It seems like people like those games more, because of what they meant to the person. Its hard to explain, but they have something to them, that the other games didnt have. Sounds weird, but its true.

I remember back then when I didnt know I was supposed to put the Bolouders in the black wholes in Crystal and In Pokemon yellow I always lost to brocks onix xD

Lol yeah. Those were the days. I remember when I got my first pokemon game. I dont know how, but I SWEAR that my Blastoise was like level 140 and I didnt use cheat codes. And he still couldnt beat my friends level 80 Snorlax lol. If I played the old games again, I'd definetly play Crystal or Yellow.

Also, back in Pokemon Red, if you chose charmander you would have an AWFUL time defeating brock. He couldnt learn metal claw (no steel types anyone?) back then lol.

But yeah, I definetly remember those days.

I remember I didn't know how to get past Morty's invisible walk path in his gym so I trained my Espeon to level 100 before beating him. :/

I also remember losing to Brock 5939539 times in Pokemon Yellow, my first game.

WOW. I thought the games internal battery would have died by that time lol.

Well, Pokémon games come out after many years so you have time to play, and especially this last 4th generation will be the longest one (I heard that) and maybe the last one. At least we can be sure it will be long because of the online play, so even if there are other games out, you can still play with millions of people, so Pokémon is a world that never ends, just evolves.

I remember when Mewtwo was even more uber than it is now... because there was no Dark type and as far as its other weaknesses, Ghosts had Lick and Bugs had Twin Needle and Pin Missle. And then there was Houndoom, Shadow Ball, and no particular gain for the unloved Bug type. Except Heracross. In R/B/Y, any Psychic was pretty much uber. Ah, yes, I remember my first Houndour on Silver... *smiles idiotically* Silver was my favorite. I named my main RP character after that game. O.o
