I'm honestly not expecting this thread to be popular, but the whole deal is mons that you simply see as a specific gender for whatever your own reason would be. And for me personally there are only a few mons that I see as a certain gender but mostly because they end up as that gender whenever I use them.

Machop line and Incineroar - Anyone can excercise and do sports so it makes sense that these can be female. But they also have male bodies. Yet I have used females of both these lines plenty times before :O.

Typhlosion - I have a hard time seeing a design like that as feminin for some strange reason but everytime I get a female of this line, in a nuzlocke, it literally dies instantly. Even one case where it died the moment it was fully evolved.

Reshiram and Zekrom - The only legendaries I see as a certain gender and I see them as male. I kinda forgot what my reason was at the time of typing but yeah.

There are a few for me but these stand out. Any mons that you guys see as a certain gender based on your own thoughts?

    Female
    • Gardevoir. Gave it a fairly feminine design. Made it worse by restricting Gallade to male.
    • Gothita line. Feminine name endings, and also design.
    • Bellossom. Looks like a hula girl.
    • Lopunny. Pixar mother proportions.
    • Hitmonchan. A little bit the outfit, a little bit the -chan ending (despite referring to Jackie Chan).
    • Brionne and Primarina (but not Popplio). Borrows the mermaid aesthetic.
    • Dolliv and Arboliva. Too similar to Lilligant (who is only female). Drags Arboliva with it, by association.
    • Espathra. Partially the hair, partially the name.

    Male
    • Inteleon. Thinks of James Bond.
    • Sirfetch'd. Purely on "Sir".
    • Gumshoos because of someone similar.
    • Diggersby. Looks like Bluto from Popeye.
    • Bouffalant. Tweaked Tauros a little, which is an all-male Pokemon.
    • Hariyama. Generally restricts sumo wrestling to men.
    • Kadbara + Alakazam. The long moustache.
    • Machop line. Made it look human-like.
    • Incineroar. Same as Machop.
    • Dartrix. Looks like a butler.
    • Charcadet line. Came from Mega Man, practically. Consists almost entirely of male robots, at least in the older games.

Affects primarily humanoid designs and inspirations.

Venusaur always looked like a protective mother of Bulbasaur to me, while Blastoise looked more father-ish(?). Weirdly enough, Morgrem looked more Female-ish (probably to the hair) even though it's a all male species, tomboy-like sorta?

Quick note that kinda relates, the reason I think some female looking pokémon can be male (Even being more male then female percent) is because of other media characters like Nagisa Shiota and Astolfo existing, AKA, Japan animes (And pokémon by extension, kinda) likes feminine males.

Oh and uh, Jolteon is the only eeveelution I see as male, even though Eevee and the eeveelution's is mostly male. 119 words, nice.[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon you personally associate with a specific gender?

Did I go off topic or am I still on script?

Any Pokemon with Cute Charm, I associate with being female because of some painful experiences in FRLG as a kid where I used a male starter almost exclusively, and didn't understand how the ability worked.

Apart from that, if I use a Pokemon of the same species and gender often enough, I'll start associating it with that gender whether it looks masculine/feminine or not. As an example, by complete coincidence, every single Gardevoir I've used in my teams has been male, so I default to assuming it's male even though it's a feminine-looking Pokemon with a male-exclusive evolution. On the other hand, I've trained three female Sceptile, so I associate that Pokemon with femininity instead.

There's a bunch of Pokemon I have a small leaning to one way or the other, some already mentioned, but beyond that

Diancie, Volcarona, and Zekrom are female to me, Reshiram is male....and that's about it coming to mind atm
