Just wondering how many people here actually have a DS. I don't because I can't afford one ($200!?!) and I am unsure whether I will ask for one for Christmas. Rather get a footy though (Thats a Sherrin - AFL Ball).

Here are several options. Also feel free to post comments.

    Happy voting!

yea i have one because my old advanced was broken up and you save lots of money on batteries and its quite cheap here £100 for one a game with it and a accesory pack im on it now as well

BTW I dont think this belongs here

I reckon it does. If you have a DS you can get D/P straight away. D/P is released for the DS. I wanted it here because I wanted to see if the people on the D/P waiting lsit actually had DSes.

P.S You call £100 cheap?? Thats about $270 aussie! DSes with a game are $170 (or £75). Mate that can buy 6 GBAS here £100 can.

£ is the Euro symbol, correct? If so, £100 is only 165 AUD, not 270. If £ is pounds, then it's 241 AUD.

And in your first post, you said $200 was stopping you from buying a DS. If that 200 is in Australian dollars, then that's equal to about $154 in USD, which is only $4 more than the original price of the DS here.

    £ is a UK pound, € is a Euro

I don't even have a GBA yet, so I don't know whether I should get a GBA and wait until D/P or just get a DS straight away and buy either R/S/E or FR/LG to go on it. But if I got a DS, I wouldn't be able to trade with other R/S/E FR/LG because its not compatible?

Yes, I have the Red Mario Kart DS one, an Electric Blue one, a black one, and a White DS Lite. Don't ask me why I have more than one DS.

I got mine last friday :) I gotta say it's great,I don't regret buying it.Can't wait 'til I get D/P,possibly Ranger ,if it comes to US/Europe and Zelda the Phantom Hourglass.
    Touching is good,lol

I got mine the day it came out (I was the second member to post on PC saying they got one). And I love it, I got two games for it and if I wasn't saving up for other systems (Wii, PS3, 360, DSLite) I'd have more games.

Is a DS worth it? That's up to you. Me I love my DS and it was well worth it to me. But if you don't see any games you want then you might not want to buy it (goes the same for all systems). But if you see games you'd like to play then get the DS.

I have a DS, I've had mine since around September and I have to say that I love it, the games I have are wonderful, besides Ridge Racer. Mario Kart is a blast and so is Metroid Prime: Hunters. I can't wait until D/P come out for it, it's going to be awesome!

I can't afford a ds, my parents wont get it for me, since I have the game and watch, the gb, the gbc, the gba, and the gba sp.

Not buying one. Ever. Not only do I still feel that Nintendo loyalists are being taken advantage of through their unwillingness to to reject the "innovation" lie, but there are no games that warrant a purchase of a new system for me. My three criteria have not yet been met for even considering the purchase of one, those being: a.) A new Legend of Zelda game is in the works with video and screenshots available, b.) Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are proven to be the legitimate heirs to the series, and c.) A new Fire Emblem is in the works with video and screenshots available. Only a.) has been met as of yet, but it may be permanently cancelled if Phantom Hourglass has a Majora's Mask-esque time-based system.

This is not even including the factor that I will refuse to buy a system on principle if I see something inherently wrong or dishonest in the system, hence my refusal to buy such systems as the DS, Xbox, Wii (*twitch*), and others for various reasons regarding company philosophy behind the existence of the system. If you care that all you're doing is stroking Nintendo's ego by purchasing a DS, you may want to think twice, but if you don't care....there's really nothing I can say or do to stop you.

I'd honestly say that you're looking at the subject very immaturely. This isn't trying to flame, but I feel obligated to point it out. Just because there's three games, and only one has shown some promise, you're not going to like a system?

Anyone who owns a DS can tell you've never played one extensively. Or you'd know that the touch screen helps a lot, the games are awesome, and the system in general is an enormous leap from the GBA. Why do you think that people have been saying it's better than the PSP when it doesn't compare hardware-wise?

I bought one the day it came out, and I've never _ever_ regretted it.

o_o I've got one. Granted, I didn't get it the day it came out but rather several months later, I still have it. And I don't regret owning it in the least; I actually am looking forward to the Lite coming so I can get my own since the current one is shared between my brother and I. (Might take advantage of possible price drops of the original or just wait for a nice colour and buy that~)

The DS is like the 360 if they don't put out at E3 they are both dead.

So unless I am surprized at E3 I plan on never getting a DS.
