    PPN Layout Contest (Part 2...)

    last two images...

I'd go with teh last one

I also vote for the last one.

Boy, I sure do like that second one, with the Dexoys and blue sidebars. It's the best I've ever seen.

O_o Explain to me why everyone likes the last one. Not that it's bad, because it isn't, but what's so great about it? Bleah the top banner is pretty bad.
I vote for...the one that works well in any resolution including 640x480. I can't tell if any do that.

if you entered the contest but don't see your design.. it's for one of two reasons:

    1) your layout didn't work, load, or show up when i made the above post.
    2) your entry didn't make it past the first cut, sorry :(

If #1 applies to you, PM me the details, url, pic, etc. of your entry..

Some people still use 640x480 because they have no idea how to change their resolution and it's the default resolution. And for example, my school uses some odd resolution somewhere between 640x480 and 800x600, because the teacher running it has no idea what he's doing.
Now really your right about very few people using 640x480, but what about higher resolutions that are getting more popular like 1200x1600, 1280x960, or 1280x1024? The text might look small and when they try to make the text bigger it screws up the layout. My monitor is a 21" which is getting a lot more popular and people set it on larger resolutions (I use 1024x768 BECAUSE you people who design website for 800x600 and 1024x768 ONLY and I use the web a lot. I could set it higher but it screws up the web pages.) And the LCD monitors only come in one resolution so for those LCD's with 1280x1024 they can't even change it!

Ummmm.. the websites designed for 800 or 1024 (not the stretchable ones) don't change when your resolution gets bigger.. they do take up less screen area, but the designs remain the same..

Yeah, but they become hard to read. And when you change the font, it disorts the layout. Then half your screen is a blank space too.

    EDIT: Screenshots.
    1280x1024 with increased text size
1600x1200 with normal text size (VERY hard to read)
1600x1200 with readable (increased) text size

It's not practicle to change your resolution everytime you visit a web page or use the internet.
