pretend it's now 2030

It'd be nice if they'd perfected full VR gaming by then, but that's not going to happen haha.

A cure for cancer would be nice, although that could be based on science instead of technology - radiotherapy is pretty harmful after all...

What I am hoping we DON'T have in 2030 is more IOT devices and appliances.

ok i understand your distrust of Google but why Nvidia? o:

I use both Linux and macOS as well as Windows. For Linux, it's always been a royal PITA just to deal with Nvidia. As for macOS, they simply refuse to work with Apple (it goes both ways for Apple and Nvida). It boils down to both of them being insanely stubborn.

My biggest issue is how they choose to only package their drivers as binary blobs. This is true for WIndows, Linux, and macOS. That's part of the reason Apple is at ends with them.

If Nvidia refutes their current ways and how stubborn they are, then I'll be fine with them.

Here is a video of Linus Torvads explaining a bit of it. It's gotten better since this video, but it's not even close to what it should be.

going to go ahead and say that things won't be substantially different than they are today, except maybe with more advances in artificial intelligence. it'd be interesting to see where that goes in ten years.
