Whenever I use Quick or Timer balls they never seem to work. With Quick balls I usually throw them on the second or third turn after I've lowered the enemy's HP and I make sure to wait at least 20 turns with Timer balls. I've been wondering this for a while but are these balls just worthless or am I doing it wrong?

For the timer balls, you're using them too frequently, so you're not benefiting from them. They dont get better every turn, but every 5 turns. That means the ball you throw on turn 24 will be no more successful than that you through in turn 20. Because they're expensive, your best bet is to throw one every 5 turns, throwing regular pokeballs or stalling for the other 4.

I'm not a fan of quick balls, because by the time you've reduced their health and statsed them the balls are going down in quality. I recommend sticking to other kinds of ball, and trapping runners with moves like mean look.

if you throw a quick ball at dialga or palkia on the FIRST turn you encounter them, you will catch them automatically at full hp.

timer balls work best for me after about 30-40 turns.

dont throw quick balls after you weaken the pokemon, throw the turn you encounter them, allways works 4 me

You, sir, are misinformed. Quick Balls are NEVER automatic, no matter what turn you throw them on. The only ball in the game that is ever automatic is a master ball.

Hell no! That's called a masterball sonny

Just thought i'd point out that silly error of yours. I dont think they'd sell what's essentially a masterball in a pokemart, do you?

EDIT: Aha, amp beat me to it :P

throwing a quick ball at the start of the fight when you encounter dialga and palkia worked for me, my brother, and two other friends when i told them about it.

Then you're all extremely lucky. Its not a definate catch, otherwise masterballs would hold no value and there would be no point in any other pokeball. I recommend you make sure you know what you're saying before stating it as if it were fact

im just talking about dialga and palkia. it does not work for all pokemon. that's why i said at the end "works 4 me"

I tried catching Palkia with 2 Quick Balls. I only had a Luxray but luckily it was powerful enough to stall bot not defeat. then on the third turn I threw a Dusk Ball (it was night time), that didn't work so I just threw my Master Ball. I have 1 on Emerald so I'll transfer that through Pal Park. Which reminds me, only 2 balls have 100% catch rate and those are Pal Park Balls(in Pal Park only) and the Master Ball. Quick Balls and Dusk Balls work around 5% of the time on the first turn but usually you have to work them down so I never buy more than 5 Quick Balls at a time and 10 Dusk Balls.
