my in game sharpedo sucks but here it is

Sharpedo
Nature:Gentle
Surf
Crunch
HP[Flying]
Swagger

so what do I need to change?

Have you done any specific EV training on it? Because you've got two Special Attack moves on him, and HP [Flying] is a physical attack move. Swagger is just an annoyer, so it doesn't count. ^_~ I'm thinking you're focusing too much on its special attack. I'd get rid of surf, and put in either Return or Hyper Beam. Yeah, I know Hyper Beam's a cheap-@ss move, but in-game, I think it's forgiveable. ^_~ And as Sharpedo's got sucky defenses, it's really only meant to strike once and strike hard anyway. Hyper beam or return will take advantage of it's good physical attack power.

These are just my opinions tho... I could be (and frequently am) very wrong, lol...

Return>Hyper Beam, any time.

Breakdown:

Return Hyper Beam
102+102=204 150+0=150

That's the base damage calculations.
The only problem with that equation is that after Sharpedo uses return and doesn't kill the opposing pokemon, it gets trounced and devoured when it gets attacked back. However, the fact that return is 100% accurate meaning you're not going to randomly misfire and then get trounced and devoured without doing damage. So, in conclusion, Return doesn't miss so you should use it.
Any EVs or Stats you wanna add to this, because otherwise I'm just going to say that you should use the strongest freaking attacks you can fit on him since he gets HKOd by plenty.

It's true what they say, Sharpedo's strong point is definitely it's physical power, so let's capitalize upon it:

HP [Flying]
Earthquake
Return
Swagger

Lure out you opponent's Electric and Grass types and knock em' out :D . Just beware of Cradily.

Why do you have swagger on a pokemon that has incredibly low defence? They will receive a boost in attack, and you will die in one hit ifthis succeed in attacking.

I am not sure about how to use sharpedo but you could use this

Sharpedo
mild
leftovers
crunch
surf
ice beam
return/?

The 102 Power+102 Power is why people use Return>Hyper Beam, it's just a perk that it's more accurate.:D

Because the fact of the matter is that Sharpedo dies in one hit anyway. Besides, I mostly intended it to be used on Special Sweepers in which case the Attack boost is only harmful to them.

What about Raikou with HP [Grass], he's faster than Sharpedo, and will kill him with an HP [Grass]. Even more so when he hides behind his Substitute and CMs up.:\

Eh, this is suggested for an ingame Sharpedo, right? The frontier Raikous aren't really that well built. If it were for Netbattle then my suggestion would be to get a better Water type since there are plenty of them around.

You never know he could be using Link Battles, and run into a well bulit Raikou.:\

I'd say that if he ends up in a situation where his only chance is to fight of a well-built Raikou using only a Sharpedo then he has only him self to blame. You can't prepare *every* team member for *everything*. Besides, the chance of him facing a LG/FR player with a Squirtle starter (or one who has traded with someone who fits the criteria), the patience to find and train a Raikou with the appropriate Nature and EVs who happens to have a very good moveset that svamps Sharpedo is not a very big one. Giving Sharpedo Focus Band is a good idea imo, other candidates could be Quick Claw, Scope Lens, or King's Rock.

Not really becase a well-built, and a battler that can use him to his full potential, can really beat anything.

Then it's still his fault for challenging such a person.

I live close to him, and I chose Squrite! Your supposed to challenge good people to get better.:\

If he chooses to challenge a strong opponent then he still should have no-one else to blame. Besides, loosing is often more educational than winning.
