    Gas Price Rant

Yesterday evening, I had to get gas at the Meijer in Lapeer, which was $2.69 per gallon for regular unleaded. It was the best I could find, until I headed south on M-24 and found the Speedy-Q said $2.55. The further south I headed down the road, the prices kept going up. From an average of about $2.75 in Metamora Township, then, the Meijer near Oxford said $2.98! Will this never end or what?

    ottermi619,
I was right about saying once that fuel would never go back to below $2 per gallon.

prices are insane lately.. close to $3.00 a gallon here in California and still rising.. least we don't live in Europe or one of them 3rd world countries where gas is like $5.00 to 10.00 a gal.

    Yeah..try England..XD Over 90p (about $1.63) for just one litre..XD
Works out as about $6.17 per gallon

It's $2.459 here last time I checked. It goes up about 3-5 cents a day here lately. =/

    $1.10/L in Vancouver.

    <_<

This is why I don't like driving around much...Gas is reletively cheap where I live...only about $2.60 a gallon on average, but that's still much more than I can afford to pay regularly...

As Claire said, think yourselves lucky you don't live over here!

Flee, my children! Flee from the country infested by Tony Blair! FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    And I'm gonna be commuting to college everyday...up here in MN it's about 2.60 a gallon...why!!! -_-

Yeah...gas prices are a bit crazy these days.

Here in PR, at a gas station close to my school, regular costs 58.7 US cents per liter, and premium costs 62.7 US cents per liter. (NOTE: The ".7" is because of "temperature changes during the summer". Normally is ".9".)

EDIT: I just heard on the news that during next month, regular gas will cost up to 70 cents per liter over here! If that's the case, then premium must be even higher. ><

Gas Prices have been too high since 2000. The world always have to spend their money on them. The prices may make people swtich to walking which will cause less pollution but either way. The gas prices are just STUPIDly increasing each day.

I think it's because usually cars have been taking over and more and more people are driving, so think, more cars, more gas being used. So imagine now if everyone, every second was to get gas, the Earth might not have that much gas left, so that's probably why gas is going up, or it's because the governments want more money. XD

Thankfully I don't drive... phew... but yeah, I'll say those gas prices have gone too far up... it's so time for us to switch to hybrid/electric cars.

I don`t know exactly how much it is here, I just know it makes me think twice about getting rides places...sine I don`t drive yet, or own a car...but mum gets mad about gas prices all the time and complains to me and my sister about it.

I don't drive.. yet.. But I'm blessed with the fact that my town is only a square mile, and everything is within walking distance, so I can walk to get to school, go to the supermarket, go to Wendy's (Yay for fast food) (Ya know, those important places xD). Surprisingly I haven't really heard my dad complain about the prices yet =/...

Luckily for me, I drive a good ol 90 honda accord, 38 MPG BEEHATCHES!!

Hehe, mwar. I got like $1.03/L in *cough* Steinbach, can't be much lower in that little hick town over there and is bound to be worse in Winterpeg -_-

Well, there is one funny thing at least, mwar, they have ta modify the signs that say how much it costs XD *once saw one they hadn't yet modified that said 03.9 XD*

heheheh, by the time i ca drive hopefully he will be dead, if not then i will run him over................die tony!

I sure hope the price goes down some by the time I'm out of college...as it is now, I'm so broke I can't afford to drive at all. XD

    [economics lesson]
The price is going higher due to two major factors...
    1) reduced supply. It is true that the world's supply of petroleum is almost gone and will probably be gone completely within our lifetimes at the rate we're using it...
    2) increased demand. Seriously, why have SUV's become soo popular lately? SUV's and factories are consuming a lot of oil in this industrial society of ours...
The best way to force the price down is to introduce another fuel source, but unfortunately, gasoline companies are striking those down in the interest of maximizing their profits.
    [/economics lesson]

just to clarify that no politician has control over gasoline prices...
