Okay, I know I've been asking a lot of questions (a lot of which have been answered - thanks to all those who replied, but many still unanswered). But when I got to actually try to do things, according to the replies I got, almost nothing worked out like I thought it would.

See the thing is, I'd really like to have my own hack up (am in the process of working out a good plot), but I need to have a very good knowledge of all the Tools I'd be using, before I even get to start implementing my ideas.

Yes I know there are hundreds of tutorials out there, but most of them are a bit complex to understand, especially for a newbie like me, so what you learn from them is limited & many of them don't even have videos or pics, so that makes it a bit more difficult to comprehend. I'm not saying tutorials here aren't good, but that's how it is.

I'd really like for some people out here to help better my knowledge of various Tools, but I'm really clueless on how & who all to ask for help, I mean do I just PM someone or use the Live chat feature. Help out guys!

(Un)fortunately, the best teacher is and will always be experience. Try and make a script by following the tutorials, look up a mapping tutorial on youtube, replace a pokemon with something else. You're guaranteed to fail, but then you'll learn why you failed and you won't make the same mistake again. You can sit back and play the theory game all you want, but all the research in the world won't help you unless you get your hands dirty yourself. :)

Most of the common tools (like amap, XSE, and the like) are pretty basic and easy to get the hang of. If you get stuck, you can always ask on the Quick Questions thread, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have too (just shoot me a VM). :)

    Firstly guys, thnx for replying!

See I know that some questions I asked may be nooby or too obvious or maybe answered before, but the reason I asked them is that I still can't understand how to get things working (like the one on NSE or the Nature/IV ques or the one on Match Call/Trainer's Eyes).

Thnx chrunch for offering to help, I'll surely ask you a few things I don't understand, but I hope you don't think that my questions are too easy to answer.:(

You could always bug any experienced rom hackers for help.. I do it all the time.. They're great though.. They don't ignore me yet

Ya Splash, I can try asking a few guys out here for help, like but again it'll be the same, I mean if I get stuck, I'll have to get back here, ask another question.

I have no shame admitting that there's some easy stuff out there (easy for guys who've worked on it before, not for someone like me who hasn't), like working with A-Map, NSE, A-Text etc, which I still can't understand. But I'm hesitant of asking, coz I don't want you guys thinking that I'm dense.

Actually I was rather expecting to get someone on chat & work on tools as I chat, so I know immediately, where I'm going wrong, but I suppose things don't work that way here.

Sorry guys, not meaning to be rude, but I'm just being very frank here.

Anyways, let's see how things work out.
