Regular Venusaur or Roserade help

    Hello everybody! I've been too busy to play pokemon for a couple months, but now that everything's calmed down again I'm getting back into finishing my team. I'm thinking of using a Venusaur to cover the rest of my teams weakness's, but I've never used one before and everything I find is about it's Mega. I understand how superior Mega venusaur is, but I already have a mega mawile on my team. Besides I just don't personally like how Mega Venusaur looks.
    I was thinking something like this for it:
    Venusaur
    Black sludge
    Ev's: ??? (NO idea...)
    sludge bomb
    leech seed
    giga drain
    protect/synthesis

    so any helpful tips?

    I was also pondering the use of a Roserade. so if you have any suggestions for a Roserade moveset that'd be awesome too.

    For reference sake the rest of my team is: Umbreon, Arcanine, Mega-Mawile, dragonite and feraligatr. I do not intend to change the rest of my team, and I do not play by tiers. I simply need help with a last pokemon.

    Mega Venusaur is better than regular Venusaur in every way because of its Thick Fat ability canceling out 2 of its weaknesses and better overall bulk. Roserade, and even better, Amoonguss, is the better option if the Mega slot is already taken:

    Roserade:
    -Spikes/Toxic Spikes
    -Giga Drain/Leaf Storm
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Hidden Power (Fire)/Sleep Powder/Extrasensory
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Technician/Natural Cure

    Seeing each of your other Pokemon's sets would be appreciated too.

    If you play on the battlespot or VGC you can only use one item each yes. But if you play OU or by smogon rules you can use multiple items. 2 Life Orb will be fine then.
    Regular Venusaur is only good in doubles with Mega Charizard (or sun team) because of Chlorophyll.

    You can also go with a Black Sludge on Roserade to get some chip recovery and if you can't use double items.
     
    Okay thanks. I play by in game rules so only one item per pokemon. Black sludge sounds good though.

    I'm really just looking for a last pokemon to even everything out. I need another pokemon to take care of ground types, and maybe have a move for defeating fairy's you know?
