    Hello all, I'm fairly new to the use of forums although I created the account here about a year ago.. ANYWAYS, I just wanted to get some ideas from fellow hackers/Pokemon fans to see what they really want in a hack!

    • What generation of Pokemon?
    • A new region or existing ones?
    • What game generation?
    • A harder playthrough?

    I basically just want everyones input on what makes a great ROM hack to you individually as I plan on making my own ROM hack! :)

    You're probably right, the story is definitely something I'm going to be working hard at. I wanna make something original but entertaining, something that is different from most hacks.
     
    you should read this https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/353391 (its not 100% finished). the guide describes all aspects of the rom hacking process from the beggining to the end. currently it only has covered the planning of a hack, but since thats basically what you are just doing i suggest you to read it.
