ROMs - Problem Saving

I really have no idea where to put this. My first choice was in one of the ROM Hacking forums, but yeah, guess that's not allowed or the moderators are extremely slow.

This is just a simple question, really.

I can't save games properly. Before you ask, yes I've went into Options, Emulator, SaveType - Flash 128K.

I save the state and when I go to open it, VisualBoyAdvance says it's an unsupported file type or something like that.

Please, any help is really appreciated.

Do you have the Bios file?
