Does the prelease Raichu truely exsist? If so it is said to be the most valuble card in the world.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of the card? I don't think I've ever seen one, or even heard of one, until now.

    Spoiler:

If it is real this is what it would look like.

sorry for it being so big haha thats what he said lol

Yes it does exist, and that is a real photo of it in fact. Only one person has managed to buy it (his name is on that picture), but was unable to disclose where or who they got it from because they wished to remain annonymous. The card is ungradable, as it was never officially recognized by Nintendo, and I think the unofficial number of them out there is about a dozen, all allegedly held by Nintendo executives. The price I have heard and believe it sold for was $10 500, making it the most expensive Pokemon card but actually not the rarest, in terms of quantity; there are Trophy cards out there from Worlds of which there are only 3. Trophies are more accecible though, in that you can buy one if you really wanted to, but you can't really buy PR Raichu so it's rarer in that sense.

I thought they were all allegedly held be Wizards of the Coast executives. :\ After all, WotC was in charge of the American print runs at the time and had a huge hand in designing the game originally.

that card does exist i have one somewhere in my card collection but i dont think its rare though

You probably don't have the one that says "Prerelease" in the lower right corner of the picture. There were between 8 and 12 of them. :\ You probably have the actual Base Set one or the Base Set 2 version.

It could actually be the Prerelease Raichu from the Arceus set, but yeah, definitely not the one we're talking about here. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw Prerelease Raichu's coming up on Ebay before I realized Raichu was the prerelease card for the Arceus set.

Mmm ok, I just reread the Bulbapedia article and they are in fact Wizards execs, which makes sense. I miss those days when WotC owned the rights to the TCG :< The cards were so much better aesthetically, and there were 1st edition sets.
