I wanted to know how many people have actually watched Pantasia, and who liked it. It is one of my favorite series, but it isn't very well known in the U.S. as far as I see. It is known by Yakitate in Japan, and its English name is Pantasia, i'm pretty sure the name Pantasia from the Japanese word for bread, Pan, and fantasia, and Yakitate Ja-pan means freshly baked...yep you guessed it, Japan is a pun meaning Japanese bread(yes I know it sounds weird) It's about a guy name Kazuma Azuma(Yes I know he looks like a girl) a boy on his quest to create "Ja-pan", a national bread for Japan itself. Along the way he joins bread making championships and contests, and obtains 'The Legendary Solar Hands' that make his hands warmer than normal body temperature to allow him to ferment bread faster. This strengthens the plot by giving him more motivation. I also like this anime series because it is seems like such a silly series at first site but when you get into it, it gets interesting. It has a lot of humor in it too, most of them being puns. Unfortunately there are quite a few puns you might not get if you don't know Japanese, such as Ja-pan (wink wink) but there are a good amount of ones you will be able to understand too from the subtitles, and what is going on.

If you are not watching the series yet, that is my basic description to the series. Please reply, I want to hear about it :-D

Wait, did Yakitate Japan get licensed and renamed somehow while I wasn't looking? Regardless, it's a quite enjoyable series, both manga and anime. Lots of puns, but it was definitely a blast. Plus some eps they teach you how to make bread XD

I don't know exactly why it has two names. Might just be because the common American can't pronounce Japanese =P
