Hi guys, Just wondering if there is any way you can tell an Unlimited booster box to a Shadowless one without buying/opening the box?.

I am thinking about purchasing one for $500 or so because it has a Green Winged charizard rather than a blue winged one that I see on most booster boxes.

Is that a defining detail that it could be/is Shadowless?

That green-winged Charizard, though always on the shadowless booster boxes, is not the tell that it is for sure a shadowless booster box. I'm not sure of the exact way, myself, though, and have yet to find that through Googling it.

    Thanks mate,

The thing is, I wouldn't pay $500 for the unlimited print. (I may buy unl. individual base set booster packs in the future) but not 36 of them.

But if they are shadowless. I think it's tremendous value When you've got a 1 in 36 chance of snaring a Shadowless Charizard and maybe even more than one and even if you don't get one. Keep your holo's in mint condition and if you want to sell in a few years time you'll get that 500 bucks back no problem.

Also Shadowless booster packs go for 40-50 bucks so If i have individually selling them after I bought it I would generally make up to 1800 bucks if i re-sold them individually. Which I wouldn't do anyway but it's an option if i decide to re-consider. But it's that $500 risk that is on the table too.

Oh my god, if you get a shadowless booster box do NOT open it looking for a charizard. These boxes are worth an absolute fortune and will get more valuable over time as they get opened and become more scarce.
The problem is, there is no guaranteed way to know if it is a shadowless box without opening a pack. It needs to have the green-winged charizard on the side, but not all of the green-winged ones are shadowless. The value is tipping at $700 right now and I believe the unlimited is around $300, so the price of that box sort of reflects the fact that you could get either one.

That's fair enough. I am more a collector and am not really in it for the money. I possibly might by two boxes. open one and leave the other one or years to come.
