Ok, sorry. But what is the red gyrados was traded to R/B/Y? Would it still be shiny?

No because R/B/Y dont support that feature, as no pokemon was ever meant to be shiny in those versions. So trading it to those versions will result in a regular Gyarados.

If the Pokemon traded from RBY have the right IV's (I think 10 in all categories) then it will appear shiny in the GSC games. But only then. If you trade the red Gyarados then trade back, it's still shiny since you can't change a Pokemon's IV's.

Yes! R/B/Y doesn't support them!
I mean, it was designed for Gameboy Pocket and people would think it's weird. If they were playing on a GBC, for example, it would just look weird and think it was some sort of glitch that would bugger up their game.

You can get shiny mew or whatever, but the chance of getting one is soooo small...
