I have been hunting for shinies for a about two months now... and can't seem to find any. I've tried chaining, and my highest chain is 12. I walk into the same kind of grass shake as the one before. Is there something i'm missing, or does it just take a long time. I'm on 180 hours now and still nothing??? Any help????

First, there is always going to be a 1/8000 chance. When I say that, I'm just rounding the numbers. Anyway, via the use of PokeRadar, you can tell wether a shiny in in the wild grass or not. Look for glistening grass, which normally indicates a rare or shiny pokemon.

BTW: You're gonna need to chain A LOT more than 12.

I emphisis the words 'a lot' because, well, you need to chain at least 40 to increase your chances.

You can use Max Repels to try and raise your chances, too.

40 is a good number, but usually you want to go higher than that... but it gets really tricky to remember all the steps to chaining... PP is always a big thing about being able to chain. I'd check my Topic "How does chaining work for you." it has many good tips and such on how to chain.

I've got the same problem, except my highest chain is 13 Snorunt' in a row.

Shinys are hard to get. REALLY hard to get!:disappoin

the only shiny i ever got was buizel and i was'ant trying that chain thing people do.i just stumbeld across him at night around valley fireworks.if i had a better understanding of this chain system and pokeradar then i'd try to find shiny's

You do know that if you save, then encounter two pokemon, and then a shiny, you can turn off, turn on, encounter two pokemon, and then battle a legend, it'll be a shiny LEGIT legendary.

does that actually work? i could try for shiny regigigas in that case

evs are important i evd my arcues sp attk to its limit of 372 and it couldnt go any higher evs increase its chances of winning battles and rase that pokemons performance i have lots of shineys yes i would be willing to trade them im looking for a modest magmortar or magmar holding the magmarizer any help would do xx Archer

1/8192 chance = 0.01220703125%. If those odds don't scare you out of wasting your time shiny hunting like they've done to me, nothing will. Shinies aren't much more than trading tokens anyways, and since I already own all 493, I have no need of shinies. Since most of the time they're the wrong nature, as well, I can't use them for battle either.

    I'll trade it for a non-legend shiny!

Save all that for PMs, please. This thread is for discussing shiny hunting...

The only shinies I have at this moment are a Machamp and Butterfree, which I'm currently trying to trade for shiny versions of my own battle Pokemon. I also have a shiny Gallade and Milotic, but I found out after receving them that they were hacked. Too bad, I wanted to use them. >.<

you can use hacked pkmn on ur game but not in tournaments thou i got a hacked arceus, manaphy and rhyperior from gts they came out with stuff like met on 0 jan, 2000 lol but apparnt from that their just like any legal pokemon
