I know there has proberbly been threads like this before, but come on, there must be a tip or somethin' to help me get a shiny Pokemon more easier?
Either that or cheats. :(
Since shiny pokemon are totally random, the only advice anyone can give on this subject is just keep looking. I didn't find my first shiny until I had between 600 and 700 hours of playtime. Yours may come sooner than this or even later. So, persistence is the key.
Although there are cheating ways to get them, using these ways completely devalues a shiny pokemon in my opinion.
Yes, they're totally random. The chance to encounter one is... around 1/1,000,000. However, it also depends on what shiny pokemons are you looking for. The more common ones can be encountered more easily (but still very difficult to find one) than the rare ones. I caught 2 shinys while I searched for others. Too bad that the ones you're searching for, never appear, lol.
Well, there are cheat devices to get shinys, but I don't know about any of them. I don't use cheat devices, cause they often screw up your game. It also removes the fun of looking for one.
So, I suggest, just keep looking for them, and eventually you'll find one.
Eh... I heard this: the chance of battling a shiny is NOT 1/1000000. It is about 1/8000 so that can be completely random, but i think the 1/8000 chance is the most big.

I read in a pokemon guide somewhere, that for R/S and probably for Emerald, too, the chances of encountering one is around 1/1000000, but in FR/LG it's about 1/8500. Maybe it was fake, and the chances in all 5 games could be the same, but it's true, that it's very hard to find one, even if it's 1/8000-1/8500... It only depends on luck.
In the newest generation of Pokemon games, the cahnce of encountering wild shiny Pokemon is, and always will be: 1 out of 8192. This also includes breeding. If two normal Pokemon produce an egg, or one shiny and one normal, or two shiny, the chance that the offpsring will be shiny will be 1 out of 8192. So I say again, like I have said many times, the chance of encountering a wild shiny Pokemon is 1 out of 8192.
