Something funny's going on 0_o

Okay lemme explain. Several months ago on my computer I could right click and save any image, GIF, JPEG ect. and it would be saved just as it was. But lately I find a GIF image that I like so I right click and save but it will only save as BITMAP 0_o.

In fact, all images, regarding what type they are are saved as BITMAP! Can anyone help explain the cause of this?

Are you able to open GIF images that r on ur com?

Yes, some of the ones I'd saved before this weird thing began. But now I can still open them but they won't move at all.

I guess MSPaint. But...THAT'S WEIRD!
If you have the CD of your OS, and if it is XP, then try this :
Control Panel - >Add/Remove
Add/Remove Windows Programs - > Deselect the "Accessories and utilities" thing, then click next. Then, re-install that part.
To re-install : Just reselect the "Accessories and utilities" thing. I don't think it will be of much help tho.
I have never removed it, so don't kill me if it doesnt work out lol.

Also, you may want to :
Open My Computer or some folder. Tools - > Folder Options
See if there are GIF, JPG etc file types.

Also it might depend on what sites you are saving from. Because some sites if you try to right click and save images, it might just show up as, "Untitled" and as a bitmap.

It's happened to me before, and IIRC it's because certain Internet Explorer browser files/extensions have become corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall IE. Or just switch to Firefox and enjoy a better browsing experience.
