    [PokeCommunity.com] Sony - E3 Conference Discussion

Another E3 conference from Sony this year, with no information besides the date, time and location. But stay tuned for speculation and discussion! Perhaps new games are on the rise?

    Some optional discussion questions:

What do you expect or hope from Sony this year?
    Share any other thoughts here!

*Be aware that this thread is open for discussion before, during, and after their E3 conference!*

I would like them to talk about the future of their precious lil' Vita, for one. To me it seems like it's dropping off the face of the planet in terms of brand presence. I also want Sony to address their PS+ modus operandi. That being said, Project Morpheus is more than likely gonna be one of the cornerstones to this year's Sony presentation. :/

That's unlikely, for reasons stated here. First party support has basically been dropped for the Vita. Now, it's mostly on third party/indie developers to hold the system up, but it really is a shame how its come to this.

As machomuu said, Vita-chan is dead in West.

I do hope they announce some breakdown, wouldn't want this to fail.

Oh, I heard about it being classed as a legacy technology. Still holding on the vague hope that localisations will continue to head our way. And also Invizimal games. They're really fun for the Vita. I heard it said before that, because the Vita is so powerful, it's quite expensive to develop for it. Thankfully, there's a good few JRPGs for the device to keep me content.

I do hope they announce some breakdown, wouldn't want this to fail.

I'm curious to see what the price tag would be like. My guess is it'll at least be a triple figure sum to get, in Europe, anyway.

I imagine most of their time will be spent on Uncharted 4 because of course they would spend most of their time rambling about it. I'm also hoping for more info on Ratchet and Clank and maybe a release date for No Man's Sky. Not sure what else to expect other than obligatory new game announcements. If they wanted to really make me happy they would announce Jak 4 but ahahaha yeah right The usual The Last Guardian rumors have started floating around, so I guess we'll see if that goes anywhere.

A release date and more info for Persona 5 might happen, but I'm expecting most of the Atlus focus to be on P4 Dancing All Night since that's closer to releasing.

That's unlikely. E3's a big event and they've already released a lot of advertising for Dancing All Night, focusing on it at E3 would be a waste, really. Considering the state of the Vita and the enormity that comes with Persona 5 being Persona 5 (especially after the MASSIVE success of Persona 4 Golden and the views the 3 movies are getting), they'll certainly push Persona 5 for the sake of publicity and hype build.

    It's too soon for P5 =D
It's gonna be released in October most likely, June is too soon for any info xD
Plus, releasing P5 info == E3 win, other companies cannot allow Atlus to do that.

That's only 4 months from now and the most we have is that one trailer (I mean, there was the reveal and the other, longer reveal, but those are gray areas), them showing more seems warranted right now.

They have to build the hype somehow, and Sony does need more PS4 sales ('cause lord knows they don't have the demand they want right now). Though, in general, I'd like to see any SMT at E3. I'd be completely down with another spin-off franchise.

This is a double post, but I haven't shared this here yet and it was posted a few days ago, so:

    CEO Kaz Hirai said:
Our E3 conference will have a section entirely dedicated to PS VITA. It will be our first ever "In Memoriam" section in an E3 conference

    ---

    HOOOOOOLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIT.

Sony...Sony...Sony...Sony...for so long you've played with my feeling Sony, but it's FINALLY FUCKING HAPPENING. FUCK YEAH. THE LAST GUARDIAN. YEEEEEES.

    I am haps.

    ---

Horizon looks nice, though I'll need to see more before I make any judgments. Really seems like a game- and a world, specifically, that was made for me.

And a new Hitman. Just called Hitman. Weird, because the last Hitman wasn't that long ago. Seems kinda strange to use a revival title like that.

Huh. Shenmue III, which is a Kickstarter project, and Final Fantasy VII remake. Hot damn. Update the designs for the FFVII cast please, Cloud is going to look rather odd with his old clothing.

    This is bad.

    Really bad.

    Absolutely toxic.

I make jokes about my wallet dying but...like...this time it'll probably actually happen. And me with it. AND NINTENDO HASN'T EVEN HAPPENED YET.

It's...been fun here on PC. I've had fun spending time with you guys, but this...this is the end.

    Entire section my ass.

5 seconds. That's how long the Vita was on-screen. 5 seconds.

Y'know, I wouldn't have cared if they didn't announce that they'd have a memoriam. Well, at least a Vita game was announced in the way of The World of Final Fantasy. Interested in seeing more of that at the Squenix conference.

In addition to all the games metioned, especially Shenmue 3 and Final Fantasy VII remake (something people have been asking forever for), Playstation 4 is also getting Dark Souls 3.

Sony is not just stealing the show, people; they already HAD the show before it even began.

Really regret selling my PS4 now. Oh well, time to start saving money again.

    over 300k backed already. crazy.
It's definitely going to be done by the end of the day at this rate. I'm curious on to how much Sony is supporting the project. It just seems like the Kickstarter is just a way to gauge interest before Sony will write off a hefty check to fund it.

Final Fantasy VII may not be a lost cause for those who haven't invested in a PS4.

It's important to note that he mentions that it's coming first to PS4, so possibly to something else. PC, probably, Vita, possibly.

Shenmue's coming to PC as well. Glad, too, because both of these things and World of Final Fantasy, if they're on either the PC or Vita, I can invest in. The Last Guardian, though...

It was definitely an overall better conference than Microsoft, but...well, Microsoft's conference was much better for the Xbox One than Sony's was for the PS4.
