Is silent good? Or is a cacophony of voices better?

Or is somewhere in the middle a better thing? If so, how silent or how loud is your "perfect balance"?

    Answer away~

I like lots of loud, but then quiet at other times. But mostly, I like noise around. It's one of the reasons I love huge cities.

A cacophony of voices is horrible, but a multi-layered conversation with lots of differing opinions that yet doesn't feel intimidating is my ultimate ideal. Obviously, when I'm by myself, then silence would be better than hearing lots of noise in the background; but when I'm with people, a nice, vibrant conversation can go a long way.

The borderline between silence and noise is good for me, with a bit of emphasis on silence. I like to hear a bit of background noise every now and then.

I hate silence. It seems creepy, really. I much prefer things being louder, or at least some kind of noise, never actually silence. :(

Just with silence, you can hear things and then imagine people are breaking in and are going to hurt you, idk.

I like my quiet. I can't stand a lot of noise and I'd prefer everybody speak one at a time. I do like some background noise, but just something quiet in the background so it's not deathly silent.

What I can't stand is when people talk at me when I'm doing something. I prefer to be able to focus and when people break my focus it really agitates me.
