    No?

    Oh, oooh... I understand now.

You are here to pay tribute to the excilerating might of the Steel clan. 85 dazzling bolts of chromium plated Pokémon from our hearts to your brain, supercharged with 39 heavy metal moves that wipe the slate clean in every battle featuring these lead headed beauties. There is no finer array of steel-spirited titans out there, so you can keep your posion for another day.

So what do you say, pilgrim... are you in with the tin?

    Info about Steel Types

The Steel type was introduced in the second generation of Pokémon games alongside the Dark type, and the two have made a lasting impression in terms of playability and appeal. This type specialises in the base Defense stat and physical attack pool. Pokémon with this typing are also granted immunity to Posion status, ten type resistances and only three weaknesses. Out of all eighteen types, Steel is the only one that resists Dragon type moves. Furthermore, it is favoured by two Gym Leaders, four Elite Four members, and one Champion.

    Important -- Help Wanted

As this is a new up-and-running type club, I am open to volunteers who can contribute the following:
    • a CSS layout for the introductory post (this one!) given I am no expert in this field
    • fun ideas and activities to keep this club on its feet
    • media showcase, including fan art, photos, videos, etc.
    • anything else!
As an example, I would like to provide the two following ideas: a list of five facts on Steel Types every Saturday, and a Question of the Week that any members can answer, but what would you suggest? DM me anytime until September 1st.

your favourite Steel-type Pokémon, up to three

Hmmm... Magearna, Aegislash and Empoleon come close too, but I think I'd have to go with this for a top 3:
    -Metagross
    -Alolan Sandslash
    -Aggron

    favorite Steel-stype move

Flash Cannon / Iron Head depending on the Pokemon's better attacking stat. 100% accuracy and good Power. I generally tend to pass on inaccurate moves or moves with drawbacks on my playthroughs.

(optional) Your memorable story or best accomplishment (maybe both!) featuring a Steel-type in one of your playthroughs

Not part of a playthrough, but I kicked the 'Mightiest Geninja's butt with a Klefki
Immune to one of it's moves. Resisting 2 of it's other moves. Only being hit neutrally by Hydro Pump. The keychain proved too hard to kill and then became a powerhouse that took down the frog.

During playthroughs... Forretress comes to mind. I put it on my team in Ultra Moon on purpose because it walls Ultra Necrozma like a champ after a single X Sp. Def. Made my second USUM playthrough far smoother as I won it first try, rather than getting wiped by Ultra Necrozma like on my first playthrough due to not expecting a fight like that and that team being very poor for it.

    Alpha Behemoth Blade

It's actually Delta Crowned Sword, because that one was solely made for the GT event !!

    Favorite Steel Type Pokémon:

    1. Zacian-C
    2. Aegislash
    3. Necrozma-DM

    Favorite Steel Type Move :

Behemoth Blade or Metal Burst. Both are solid attacks, and later one works good for Pokémon like Zamazenta-C due to high defense.

    Memorable Experience:

Steel Type is preferred type, hence I always use one Pokémon of this type in my team. The oldest which I can remember is Defiant Empoleon knowing Aqua Jet. He was quite potent with that single priority move to remove some enemies after Defiant Boost. I liked using this combination in Platinum playthrough back then.

And the most recent is full 3* Metagross which I got in Pokémon GO few months back, and that too during the time when I was catching any Pokémon on the map to clear my bag space. And the Sunday's CD allowed me to evolve and get the exclusive move. Now it is at 3791CP !!

I love steel type pokemon! Indeed Piplup evolves into one!

My favourite steel type pokemon (hard to choose only three lol):
    Empoleon, Dialga, Skarmory

    Favourite steel type move:
of course flash cannon lol. I love the visuals and sounds of that move

Memorable achievements with steel type pokemon:
I have well many stories to tell with my Empoleon, but I think a nice bit of trivia is that it's the first pokemon I got to level 100 manually lol

    Club Announcement #1 2024/8/25

[PokeCommunity.com] Spirit of Steel: a Club for Steel Type Fans

Greendog here to inform you the first of my updates to the club. How often I will make these announcements isn't yet decided so keep in mind of any suggestions to making weekly monthly content is welcomed. Personally I'm guessing monthly in order to let other community clubs have breathing space. Ah, I'm so stoked to be part of this! Just message me and I will hear your opinions.

Let's get started with those three questions for all members who wish to join the Spirit of Steel. But... what does the chairperson think about them? Well, here you go!

    Favourite steel type Pokémon:
:aron: the one and only true love in this whole series, all over egg breeding for shinies in HeartGold. :D
:steelix: it was from reading the Pojo magazines back in 2000 when I first heard of this new typing alongside Dark, and I knew right there and then that I had to try them out. Most notable was Onix's evolution by trading with the Metal Coat as a held item. The concept of first gen Pokémon receiving new evolutions in the next gen blew my young mind (until the fourth generation made it look, well, unimpressive), and I was sure to put together my team with Crobat, Espeon, Slowking, and so on.
:escavalier: it's a metallic snail-looking knight who would fit right in at the medieval period in history. What a smashing idea, even if a double weakness to Fire holds it back. I never used one on my Gen 5 team, instead relying on Ferrothorn as it was much easier to obtain by evolving Ferroseed than by trading two exact Bug Pokémon.

    Favourite steel type move:
Flash Cannon: an uber-rare special attack move that was a godsend in my White playthrough.

Memorable achievements with steel type Pokémon:
Repeating what I said about Steelix being my second favourite, the chance to use a Steel Pokémon for the first time was delightful having been weaned on the same fifteen basic Gen 1 types numerous times. That, and my ongoing solo Steel challenge with Aron for fun and bragging rights.

That will do until September. Until then, strike the iron hot!

I'm im, I love steel types. As a dragon lover, I appreciate the value of a steel core to stand tall against our weaknesses, fairy, ice and other dragons.

    1) Favourite steel type Pokémon

Just naming three favorites is really hard. I wish I could pick more, but if I must narrow it down then the awards go to Metagross, Lucario and Skarmory.

I'm partial to Metagross as the signature pokemon of Steven Stone, my favorite character. Psychic and steel is also a great typing, and it's got those lovely, tanky psuedolegendary stats, great move pool, and beautiful shiny, plus it has one of the best megas ever.

As for lucario, he's just a sleek classic design that celebrates my friendship witg dogs, and admiration for mythology since it look like the Egyptian God of the underworld, Anubis. Ser Aaron's loyal, honorable Lucario from the 8th pokemon movie also helps endear me to this pokemon. Above all, it's just an excellent mixed attacker, and another one with an exciting move pool and a godly mega.

Skarmory Is a really cool pokemon, in concept as an armored bird, and has a good design. I love it's cry, it sounds like bird's caw, but in a metallic way that calls to mind the scraping sound of a sword being pulled from it's sheath. It's so unique, and a great pokemon- the quitessential wall.

There are a lot more steel pokemon I want to name but will keep my word of only 3

    2) Favorite Steel-Type Move:

Bullet punch- Steel pokemon usually can hit hard and take hits, but more often than not they move slowly, so being able to get that priority to kill a foe who survived the first blow is sweet.

Iron defense- I mentioned that it's already known for being great defensive types, and when you get off this move your physical defenses can become a nightmare for your enemy bust through

Iron Head- Our bread and butter stab move. Something accurate with some solid attacking power and that little bonus of a possible flinch.
