Splash pages

I'm still considering whether I should change it. If I can figure out a way to make the new splash better than the old, I guess I'll stick with the old splash.

interesting.......*writes down for a future site of mine*i learned something over summer break!!!(there's still hope!!!)

They lower your ranking b/c to get to your site the spider has to index splash and your main page, and being the splash is the first page, if it doesn't have content on it (most splash pages don't) it will simply skip the next page or not but much effort into it. I have lots of experience with search engines.

Then just trick the search engine. ;P

And the old one is better design wise.

yeah, normally if you dont have splash you'll appear on search engines more often.
just dont put the splash on your first page though..

The old one is better, I think. It's better designed, the new one looks like it was made by an amateur designer. The old one is more sophisticated.

Yeah, go old.. Or just change it to a completely new design.

Also, on the search engine when you search all my keywords i'm high up anyway so it doesn't really worry me to much :P

i like the old one imo. however the newone is always good for change. on my site i killed the splash page and made a preloader

Ever see the sites that have a huge paragraph of junk on their splash pages? That's how you trick it.

And if you do it right, you could do like size one font, and then make it the color of the background, it won't bother you visitors then. ^^;

Although I don't really like that, it's kind of cheating. My site is high for "patamon", but not for anything else. And TPP isn't high for *anything*.

Well, you could put a few keywords in there or something. Just to bump it up a few notches.

Fair 'nuff, but no one wants to link to TPP anyway. You want to know my opinion? Pok?mon webmasters are a lot tighter than their Digimon counterparts. When I opened PW, I got affiliation with three big sites straight away, but with TPP all the Pok?mon sites around have ridiculous hit requirements. They don't care how much work you put in, or how much potential the site has. All they care about is hits. I mean, how am I supposed to get that kind of hits if no one will affiliate with me anyway? o_O

You need a domain in the Pokemon world I guess.

And the Digimon world is populated by older people too, so that might have an impact.
