Don't want to read the article? Well ok I'll tell you here. Get your wallets ready PC users in the west! The Standard N3DS is coming, in the form of a bundle. An Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer bundle for a slightly higher $219.99

Also worth mentioning in that article is that there will be N3DS XL that is Hyrule themed. Which will be the usual $199.99 here.

    And now my thoughts:
YES! YEEEEESSSS! I cannot wait for this. And I'm really REALLY hoping that we get the option for a black colored one, or even just the plain N3DS without any bundled anything. Are you excited anyone from the USA? Because I sure as hell am

OMG YES I NEEEED THIS FACEPLATES AND CUSTOMIZATION AHOY.

But seriously why was this not done earlier.

From what I read somewhere Nintendo said something along the lines that the regular 3DS XL sold really well in Japan and expected the N3DS XL to do the same. Japan had more N3DS XL sales too. Since America is what I assume the second biggest Nintendo consumer they decided for XL only because of sales in Japan.

Don't take my word for that because I read it in a review I THINK was a legit review from Nintendo about not having the standard size in America.

i thought they weren't creating faceplates for the US. well this is exciting! i already have my monster hunter 3ds tho!

xxkaylabby already beat me to what I was about to say; I wonder what made Nintendo of America changed their minds?

The general amount of whining people did about it, I suspect.

Good for fans who wanted one, I suppose. But I can't help but feel a tad annoyed by the fact that if this situation had occured in European territories, no amount of complaining about it would have budged Nintendo...depending on price, I may pick one of these up for the games that are being delayed in this country, though. It's more appealing than a 2DS.

If whining was the result of bringing the New 3DS nationwide, then they would've announced Federation Force's cancellation for its backlash. This is why I despise fans telling companies what they should or shouldn't do.

Not quite. Cancelling something that they've already invested time and money in - despite fan reactions - is completely different from bringing something out that they hadn't initially planned to. The same principle can't really be applied...but we've seen, time and again, that if America whines loudly enough about not getting something, they'll usually get it. Granted, this wasn't quite the same scale as the likes of Operation Rainfall, but evidently it was loud enough for Nintendo to take note. I'm surprised it took them this long, to be honest; the Xenoblade bundle that came out in EU territories fairly recently would have been an ideal place to start.
