States Decks

Gardy (people who loved it before, like me, will use it, and it will win something)
Monarchy (severely weakened, but will still be a threat)
Salamence (THE deck after next set)
Magma (it won Worlds. It can't be THAT weak...)
Blaze (still has a very loyal following. Can be beat, but will probably win in somewhere remote, like Alaska or Iowa...)
JumpyByss (VERY, VERY powerful card, esp since Gardy is now a contender. Look for these two titans to hook it up several times.)

also, there will be some very interesting Rogue decks looking to make an appearance. My Dark Steel deck will be one of them (along with my friend who absolutely loves the deck) and so will Metagross (anti-Gardy), Shiftry (semi-gust), and a few others that even I don't know about. It'll be fun to see what happens!!!

Things are really going to get shook up for sure with this next set coming out. I have no doubt I'll see most decks at my state due to the fact almost every state and there brother has said there coming over here. Oh well more fun for me. I may lend my Aqua deck out, it seems to almost work as fast as magma.

This may sound odd,but I think a fast Beedrill deck (A.K.A. Speedrill) can be a tough contender. This deck is just so extremely fast with no inherent weaknesses except Blaziken EX.It should do great,in my opinion.

However it's not as fast as Zappy EX. CB, if my deck on Saturday was fully completed (as it had the 3 more Dual Balls and the Lanette's), I would of been able to pull out Zappy faster and made my rankings better.

As for the topic itself, Zappy EX is IMO the best deck in the format. Here are the decks ranked IMO:

1. Zappy EX - fast and hits harder than most decks can turn 2.
2. BlaziTrode - fast, but not as fast as Zappy.
3. Dark Trance - fast, and hits hard but not as hard as Zappy does in the beginning. However, it hits the hardest late in the game (which for it is about turn 4-5).
4. Blast/Cat/Mag - VERY powerful but a tad slow. Swoop! Teleporter helped this deck alot.
5. Magma - actually tied for the #4 slot, this deck shows that it was good from the beginning, people just didn't realize it.

Of course, all the above decks have weaknesses that a 1-1 line can solve. Dark Trance has a few issues with Togetic, while Magma will have some problems with the EX: Deoxys Ninjask. Zappy EX can't really flow as well if something goes wrong, and Blazitrode is hurt early game by it's reliance on non-searchable Evos (their all EX's 'cept the Blaziken w/ Firestarter). Blast/Cat/Mag can be completely crippled by ATMR, which is also highly run in today's meta.

Patriarch and I were thinking about the Magma deck exactly as it was the night when the TATM set came out in Japan (ADV 4). We both were racing to see who would complete it first and own with it, then show the world that you didn't have to evolve or be an "EX" to be good.

Yeah, and to stop those fatties, people use Desert Ruins and ALL Psychic decks (mine at least, and I may even tech a few) run Wobbuffet. I'm considering a deck based around EX: DEO Ninjask and Shedinja from EX: Dragons.
