What is the status move that you hate getting hit by? I think mine is Paralysis. I don't like that it blocks you from moving and lowers your speed. At least with Sleep and Freeze once you break through you are in the clear but with Paralysis its a chance on if you get to move that turn or not.

Poison. Needs to fix it after battle, at least in the earlier generations. Shoves a paralyzed or sleeping Pokemon to the back of the line and ignores it until a Pokemon Center, if necessary.

Messes up setup strategies more than the others too. Potentially gets away with paralysis or sleep on a tankier setup. Likely hits hard enough to one-shot through a Burn. Might be hard-pressed to set up properly with the extra poison damage.

Paralysis is the worst for me.

Just ruins the flow of battles.

I guess Freeze. I hate when it happens to me as much as when it happens to the opponent. A victory that relies on something that has a 10% chance of happening doesn't feel like a victory to me, and if my team/strategy was good enough to win without that happening that means the Freeze was unnecessary.

I'm disappointed they didn't rework it to be more like LA's Frostbite or something, especially when they did thankfully replace Hail.

Frozen is the absolute worst because there is literally nothing your pokemon can do under this status, but sit there and take damage and let the opponent set up.

You are free to still move every turn at least while poisoned or burned. You also have a chance to move when paralyzed, and the odds of being able to are way higher than the odds of defrost.

Sleep is dangerous for similar reasons of becoming a sitting duck, but it's still not as bad because the chance of awakening is better than thawing, and there are turn limits to how long you can be made to sleep, no more than 5. No restrictions on freeze, could be like that for 4 turns, or for 40.

I mean are any of these that bad? Unless you're talking about the rigged battle institutions that cheat to make you lose your winning streak, just throw a full heal when you can outside those buildings. But seriously, I agree with paralysis, poison, and sleep being huge pains, I don't really want to use items. (I got a hoarding problem in my bag and never use most of the stuff in the bag.) confusion and attraction serve a close 2nds as you need to either wait it out for confusion or use berries and attraction is similar to paralysis as they'll ignore your orders and need to carry use a red flute. Which have been nerfed, but who's going to go out their way to get multiple red flutes if this still cures infatuation, as silly as this sounds. Switching out is much better when you got the option. Frozen doesn't happen too often to me.

I feel like I've been hit by Critical Hit + Freeze too many times in the years that I've played pokemon.

When freeze pops up already knowing it was a small chance, there's a bit of a downed feeling.

Confusion can definitely feel unfair because not only can it completely stop your plans, dealing damage to yourself especially sucks. I guess it also doesn't count as a major status effect either, since it can also be stacked with other things like Burn, Poison, or Paralysis? That makes it extra rough.
I also think the speed drop that comes with paralysis can be especially crippling if it comes at a bad time.
