Stigmata
Sitting by a window is a figure
She sits alone, staring past the cars
Young in age, everything is faster
On her arms bear hefty crimson scars
Troubled at the gray and murky sky
She stands up slowly with a heavy frown
It caught her eyes within a tiny second
Before her hand sets the coffee down
Nonchalantly stepping by the curve
Someone whom she takes a hasty glance
Someone with a bundle in their arms
It's then she knows that it will take the chance
The bundle lets out wails and futile sobs
An infant, as she stares with unknown fright
The cloaked figure grins and whispers words
She can't decide which one of them is right
Her hands press firmly against the glass
Helpless, yet her words a desperate cry
The cars rush by across the street
The bundle drops, she couldn't try
Emotions are a foreign word
Her hands slowly slide down the glass
The figure leers and walks away
The cars are simply going to pass
Eyes are wide, as they sit back down
Picking the coffee with one hand
Nervously, she begins to smile
Smiles at the pain, the small demand
