I've never posted here before, though I've searched google and no answers. For the past several weeks, I've had a problem with my computer, something that's very hard to explain and so far everyone I bring my problem to goes un-helped as they have no clue how to fix it. So, I come to the PC tech users to see if there is anyway to fix this.

To the point, the problem I have is my computer always gets stuck (not freeze) on the page I last viewed it.

    Example:

Okay, I make a post, and then I go to Today's Posts like I normally do and when I go back to that thread I posted, my post is no where to be found, and it literally makes the page "stick" me to the way it was before I posted and viewed before, also not showing an update in other posts after what I last viewed. I'm not pressing the back button I'm just clicking on the thread in Today's Posts. It happens on every forum I go to.

    Example 2:

I exhuast my PC time and when I go to today's posts it gives you the message access denied yadayada, when I resign in... It takes me BACK to the denied page. However, once I refresh it works just fine and takes me to today's posts. Though it's annoying to refresh any page I visit more then once, the only place here in PC it doesn't do that is today's posts. But if I visit a page twice, it shows me the first time unless I refresh.

    Example 3:

Okay say I view my profile, and then I go to the main index, refresh for some time and when I go back to see a new profile message, I see my profile as I viewed it last, not showing the new message unless I refresh.

    ---
Basically stuck in time. I've been able to handle for some time, but it's annoying and I really want to fix this, hopefully without going somewhere I have to pay for, as I refrain from letting my mother get any idea I "broke" the computer and the possibility of losing laptop privileges. Also, it's not just PC, it's any other forum I visit, including my blog.

Cowrie suggested when this first arised to log out and log on, clearing the cookies. Didn't do anything. The only way I can view the page that is updated from my past view is refresh. If you need more detail on anything, I'll provide it. Any help or any way to fix this so that I don't have to refresh everytime, like post go to the thread at a later time and see my post and not having to refresh to see it or anything past it.

    Hopefully I made that understandable. x-x;

Have you tried clearing your entire Internet Cache. sometimes these problems arise when you are nearing a large amount of built up cache.
I will tell you that this will delete your browsing history, cookies, any saved passwords and will return your browsers to almost fresh install. (don't worry your bookmarks are fine.)

go Start menu > control panel > Network settings and connections > Internet Options > in the "general" tab the second section down should be 'browsing history' click the delete button to empty your internet cache.

If you try that and the problem still arises, try using a different browser like Opera, Safari, or SeaMonkey (another Mozilla project).

I usually fully empty my internet cache weekly, anyway just did it again and no change in the time stuck at all. =/

Thank you for your help though Gerri, I'll try a different browser and see what happens, and get back here with the results of that.

on a much smaller note, if you haven't shut down our computer in a while, then try this idea. when you go to bed tonight, shut down your computer. let it rest while you do. (computers need sleep every once in a while too. XD)

but yeah let me know if changing browsers helps.

    Oh my god Gerri.

I changed to Safari and every thing is back to normal! :D Thank you so much. The sleep didn't do anything by the way.

Problem solved, guess I'm a safari dude from here on out. Problem solved. Thread can be closed now I guess. Thanks Gerri!
