Suggestions for Japanese entertainment and Other games

    I don't know if people would be willing to keep up with it or not, as I would certainly leand a helping hand, BUT how about making a thread with a list of all the Games/Anime/Manga discussion threads? I mean the two forums aren't really really active so it wouldn't be a problem keeping track of the threads and that way people can just search and click for the anime/game they wish to talk about instead of making duplicate threads. There isn't really much wrong with the two sections in terms of duplicate threads, but it would just be easier for member (imo).

    The list could be kept in alphabetical order and provide links for all the discussion threads. Note that this would not include threads such as 'Favourite Anime', just discussion threads for specific anime such as 'Hellsing discussion thread'.

    Just an idea anyways XP
     
    Well keeping single threads that could support an entire forum is a little woah. It's important to keep them separated because not all games are English and not all Animes are Japanese(sadly). Keeping a single thread to have discussion on the very WIDE topic of anime would only be a disaster.

    It's a good idea, but the forums are posted in when the members are good and ready; I doubt the staff would do that :/

    Or... You could just get people to search more.
     
    I meant seperate threads for both anime and games XP And the thread would only be a list directing people to discussion threads for anime/games.

    If people liked to search they would do it.
     
    I like the idea because it'd cut back on the duplicate threads, and also help people look for topic they want (also to see if it's been started so they can start one or not). I wouldn't really say 1 thread, seeing how there's lots of different topics (anime, manga, and gaming) over them forums.
    But here's the thing, keeping up with that would be a pain. You'd have to update it everyday, you'd have to check for new threads, edit the post, add a little description of the thread, put it in order, etc. On top of that, threads that's over a month old will have to re found, and removed (meaning you'd have to check just about every thread on the list) due to people posting in a thread over a month old. It might sound fun or a good idea at first for the person making and updating the thread, but weeks or months down the road it's going to get to be a real pain (more so if the thread gets really long).


    You'd have to get approval from the Mods of them forums to go ahead with this idea (since this is a forum by forum level). And I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But you, or whoever is doing it will get sick of it after a while and want to stop (because it's an on going daily thing to do).
     
    Alternately, if you see a thread, you could tag it with its topic. The more people use tags, the more they will (hopefully) catch on, and the more relevant tag searches will be. Eventually it should probably eliminate the need for a list at all.
     
    Arcanine: Understandable, I wouldn't mind and they aren't really that active to be a burden to keep up with, but I can see where your coming from ^_^;; I found the bishy thread a little bit of a burden and the whole topics getting OLD would also be a downfall to the idea.

    Lightning-sama: I guess your right there heh heh, keep forgetting about the tags and I'm sure other people do to to be honest. It'll take some getting use to XP
