Well, I have two requests really... First of all, I need to know what Pokemon Tate and Liza use in Emerald, and what their moves are. I can't seem to find a listing of the moves anywhere in the places I normally go for info. I hope you guys can help!

Second of all, I'm working on a team that I'm hoping will be able to take them on. So far, I'm grooming three (possibly four) that will be the basis for my attack. I'm gonna post 'em here, and I want your opinions on whether or not they'll work, and if so, in what way should I work on them? I've got plenty of patience, and I'm willing to level them up pretty far. I've got lots of rare candies, and I've nearly finished EV training them all for Speed and Sp. Attack, so I'll be able to start using my rare candies soon, too. Level suggestions would also be appreciated.

    1. Gyarados (Held item = ?)
    Lev: 37
    Nature: Careful
    Ability: Intimidate
    HP: 126, Attack: 111, Defense: 69, Sp. Atk: 62, Sp. Def: 94, Speed: 80
    -Strength
    -Surf
    -Bite
    -Secret Power

Gyarados has been my Surf and Secret power slave for most of the game, as well as my Strength Pogey. I'm willing to get rid of all of 'em except surf, and maybe bite. I was thinking of maybe giving him Ice Beam, but I'm worried that I'll need to save my TM for the E4. I'm open to suggestions on this one, because so far, he's been able to last the longest against Tate and Liza.

    2. Carvanha (Held item = ?)
    Lev: 31
    Nature: Lonely
    Ability: Rough Skin
    HP: 69, Attack: 67, Defense: 16, Sp. Atk: 50, Sp. Def: 25, Speed: 51
    -Focus Energy
    -Scary Face
    -Crunch
    -Surf

I only recently brought this guy into the picture. His defense and sp. def. suck, so I'm thinking he'll be a one-hit wonder. I wanna evolve him into a Sharpedo immediately, because I really don't see any point in keeping him a Carvanha any longer; his attacks don't warrant it. Crunch and Surf are definite keepers, but I'm open to anything else.

    3. Tropius (Held item = ?)
    Lev: 36
    Nature: Serious
    Ability: Chlorophyll
    HP: 120, Attack: 62, Defense: 68, Sp. Atk: 71, Sp. Def: 70, Speed: 57
    -Growth
    -Razor Leaf
    -Stomp
    -Fly

This one is pretty solid, but I'm scared to death that one of those two still have a Solrock that knows flamethrower (like they did in Ru/Sa). For that reason, I'm not sure it'll be able to last once they get that one out. So I'm hoping I'll be able to pick off the other three before solrock comes out. (I'll need to know which of the two uses Solrock for that reason). I intend to keep fly, although I won't need it for this battle. Razor leaf sounds better than magical leaf, simply because I'll have more control over each individual turn, plus its high crit. hit ratio is better. The only thing I don't like about it is that its accuracy isn't as good. Any thoughts on alternative moves would be appreciated.

    Optional:
    1. Linoone (Held Item = ?)
    Lev: 30
    Nature: Quirky
    Ability: Pickup
    HP: 92, Attack: 56, Defense: 52, Sp. Atk: 47, Sp. Def: 48, Speed: 67
    -Covet
    -Cut
    -Surf
    -Rock Smash

Another HM slave. I'm just putting it here because I'm wondering how well it might hold up against them if I level it up some. I'm no good at calculating IV's, but it had Pokerus when it was around lev 5, and I didn't really EV train it. It was more of a Pickup 'mon than anything else. I don't want to give up Covet, but any of the others are open.

    Optional:
    2. Electrode (Held Item = ?)
    Lev: 36
    Nature: Calm
    Ability: Soundproof
    HP: 97, Attack: 39, Defense: 63, Sp. Atk: 65, Sp. Def: 78, Speed: 118
    -Tackle
    -Selfdestruct
    -Sonicboom
    -Thunderbolt

Any ground attacks are gonna own this guy. But I saw a Xatu when I first fought Tate and Liza, and I figured I could use him once with his speed the way it is. Will I be able to level him up enough to take out the Xatu with one thunderbolt?

    Optional:
    3. Heracross (Held Item = ?)
    Lev: 37
    Nature: Naive
    Ability: Swarm
    HP: 123, Attack: 115, Defense: 74, Sp. Atk: 45, Sp. Def: 81, Speed: 101
    -Brick Break
    -Thief
    -False Swipe
    -Dig

This pokemon is my pride and joy. Too bad he won't be any good against these guys. If it weren't for his double weakness to flying, I'd think he was the best Pokemon in the world. I bred him for Dig and False swipe, and he's my catching 'mon. I use him to catch everything (except ghosts) and he hasn't failed me yet. The only problem is, I can't think of anything for him to do in this battle. Maybe you guys could come up with a way? I refuse to give up thief, false swipe, or dig. But I can trade Brick break out for something else if you guys think I ought to.

So there you have it. Please feel free to give any suggestions you think might help me. Right now, I'm too unsure of what I ought to be doing to reject anything.

Err.., I know they have psychic pokemon, the same as the ones in R/S. I think it's Lunatone and Solrock.

Glad I could help. By the way your team needs to be at least late 30's to mid 40's to battle Tate and Liza. I don't think you should have any trouble. A strong Sharpedo with Crunch and Surf and a Electric Pokemon you should have no problems. But this comes from an amateur rater

I levelled up both Gyarados and Tropius to 42, and went in and beat them up! :D I used my electrode with Thunderbolt to take out Xatu, but after Claydoll KO'ed it with earthquake, I brought out Tropius and Hydro Pumped and Solarbeamed my way to victory! Thanks so much for all your help!
