Hi PokeCommunity peeps I've loved Psychic types since the 1st Generation in every game I play I build a Psychic team. The first team I built up in DPP sucked big time with a crappy Espeon lead and a dumb Mesprit but I already got rid of those. This team is still far from finished and I would like some advice on how to further improve it. I'm open to pretty much any suggestions as long as the type theme is kept intact though I would prefer keeping the same team overall.

    The Team

    [PokeCommunity.com] Team Psycho (OU RMT)

    Lead!
    Starmie @ Life Orb
    Ability: Natural Cure
    Timid nature
    EVs: 6 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
    Moves:
    -Hydro Pump
    -Ice Beam
    -Grass Knot
    -Rapid Spin

Starmie has now been moved up to the lead! First off I chose Hydro Pump over Surf because it can 2KO almost all common OU leads and OHKO the likes of Aero. Grass Knot takes care of bulky waters such as Swampert leads, Ice Beam to get rid of things like Ninjask. Finally, Rapid Spin gets rid of the hazards they set-up, and thanks to Natural Cure, Starmie can also take on status-inducing leads.

    Cresselia @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    Modest nature
    EVs: 252 HP/152 Def/32 SpA/72 SpD
    Moves:
    -Charge Beam
    -Ice Beam
    -Thunder Wave
    -Lunar Dance

Lunar Dance is what makes Cresselia a staple on this team, since it gives my sweepers (and any other Pokemon) a second chance. Charge Beam+Ice Beam combo gives that great BoltBeam coverage. The 32 SpA EV's, Modest nature, and Charge Beam SpA boosts help Cresselia turn into a tank!

    [PokeCommunity.com] Team Psycho (OU RMT)

    Girafarig @ Life Orb
    Ability: Early Bird
    Adamant nature
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Moves:
    -Zen Headbutt
    -Return
    -Earthquake
    -Sucker Punch

An NU wth? It's dual Normal typing makes it immune to Ghost moves. Life Orbed Sucker Punch has revenge killed things that barely held on when KOing one of my other Pokemon. STAB Return can do a decent amount of damage. Also the fact he attacks from the Physical end takes opponents by suprise. He has EQ so he's not walled by Steels and Heatran is always caught by suprise. Sucker Punch lets him not worry about his subpar Speed too much.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Team Psycho (OU RMT)

    Alakazam @ Life Orb
    Ability: Synchronize
    Timid nature
    EVs: 6 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
    Moves:
    -Psychic
    -Charge Beam
    -Shadow Ball
    -Focus Blast

Standard Alakazam. Charge Beam was chosen over HP Electric because the 70% chance of a SpA raise is always nice. Focus Blast takes out Dark-types. Shadow Ball prevents fellow Psychic types from stalling it. Charge Beam allows Alakazam to run an Electric move and boost it's SpA at the same time, which is the reasoning for not running Calm Mind.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Team Psycho (OU RMT)

    Jirachi @ Life Orb
    Ability: Serene Grace
    Jolly nature
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Moves:
    -Stealth Rock
    -Iron Head
    -U Turn
    -Fire Punch

Not the best coverage in the world, but Fire Punch was needed on Rachi to counter Scizor. My SR user also Flich Hax ftw! Though her coverage isn't that great she can set up SR and U-Turn the hell out of there.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Team Psycho (OU RMT)

    Gallade @ Life Orb
    Ability: Steadfast
    Jolly nature
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Moves:
    -Psycho Cut
    -Close Combat
    -Night Slash
    -Stone Edge

Physical sweeper Gallade again also standard. CC+Night Slash gives almost perfect coverage, and Psycho Cut covers the two things that resist the CC+Night Slash combo (which are Toxicroak and Heracross). Stone Edge also rips apart the likes of Zapdos and Gyara. Night Slash can 2KO Leftovers Celebi after two switch-ins to SR and 2KO non-Leftovers variations after one switch-in.

    Now onto the Threat List.

I can recommend you Mach Punch to Gallade, you are very weak to DDTar but also to SD-Bulky Scizor.

Meh Alakazam outspeeds DDTar and Gallade CC can catch it if it hasn't set-up yet. Just be sure to keep Cres away she's set-up fodder for DDTar.

Well I was going to use Specs Latias but now she's Uber so much for that.

Maybe Choice Band on Gallade and Use Meatgross > Girafarig. Oh maybe a Choice Specs Modest Alakazam to outspeed Non-Sashed Weavile w/Focus Blast.

Latias is not Uber. Only Latios is.

Well on the TeamUber server she is and that's where I mostly play.

Anyways does anyone know a good Metagross set that would go well with this team? I'm thinking:

    Metagross @ Choice Band
    Adamanat nature
    EVs: 252 Atk/252 Speed
    -Meteor Mash
    -Earthquake
    -ThunderPunch
    -Explosion

    EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Speed or 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Speed

You don't outrun anything important with max Speed except Adamant Tyranitar who can be outspeed with 184 Speed EVs. 12 Speed EVs for enemy Metagross and Magnezone that plan to outspeed you.

I rescind my last comment... do run Mach Punch over Psycho Cut on Gallade to keep Weavile in check and use a Choice Band.

And run 180 Speed EVs on Metagross and put the remainder into HP. EQ should be able to hit Scizor hard enough. Which means swapping Fire Punch for Trick on Jirachi and giving it a Choice Scarf.

Um I don't think Gallade can learn Mach Punch guys. In that case Bullet Punch > ThunderPunch on Metagross should keep Weavile in check.

Ugh my mouse spazzed and decided to hit the X on the top right corner of my screen, consequently deleting my entire post ._. I'll try to summarize.

Bullet Punch is terrible. It's way too weak and dealing with something as bad as Weavile while giving way more troublesome stuff like Scizor a free switch-in is bad news. Also, CB is better really. Life Orb is just going to wear you down and faster Pokemon are just going to force you out.

If you are going to use CBGross, either run 252 HP/252 Atk or 220 Spd/252 Atk with the rest in HP. I have no idea why you would run Speed just to beat Tyranitar when it's the worst Metagross switch-in known to man except for...well...Sableye, and it can't even revenge kill since Metagross can survive even crazy powerful stuff like CB Earthquakes. 220 Speed let's you outrun Rotom-A with 88 Speed and Zen Headbutt them. and yea, that's a better option that ThunderPunch, which doesn't really hit anything except Gyarados, which takes a ton from Zen Headbutt and even Meteor Mash given SR damage it's already taking. Skarmory is just going to flee to *insert electric resistant Pokemon that your team will likely lose a member to here* if you can hit it with ThunderPunch.

The Cresselia EVs are wasteful. You can run a Bold nature (with a 17 Attack IV) with a spread of 252 HP / 40 Def / 108 SAtk / 72 SDef and still have 38 EVs (really 36) to place in any stat you want.

Alakazam wants HP Fire > Charge Beam which doesn't do anything anyway except scare away any Gyarados that is stupid enough to try to beat Alakazam. Scizor can U-turn your entire team to death, so being able to lure it in would be hugely beneficial.

In general it's pretty hard to make this competitively viable due to the theme (which is why I was shaky about approving this in the first place), so there isn't really much we can do to help I'm afraid.
