Team September - Aren't I imaginative? [RMT]

Ok, so this team is bad. But I want to make it work. So be harsh, I invite you.

[PokeCommunity.com] Team September - Aren't I imaginative? [RMT]

Machamp (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP/160 Atk/96 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute

OK, Lead Champ, but with Payback for Celebi and Cress Switch-ins.

[PokeCommunity.com] Team September - Aren't I imaginative? [RMT]

EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

DD Gyara with my Preferred Coverage. I don't like Stone Edge due to the Accuracy.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Evs: 20 HP / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Discharge

Awesome fun to use, also for trapping the Steels that give me problems. 4 more speed than standard because I feel like it.
[PokeCommunity.com] Team September - Aren't I imaginative? [RMT]

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)

CroCune. It's here because the other versions don't seem to stick around well enough, although now it doesn't counter Gyara.

[PokeCommunity.com] Team September - Aren't I imaginative? [RMT]

Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Here for revenge killing. I find the power boost from Modest to be handy, especially when Deoxys should be going Uber soon.

Ok, so that's my team. I obviously need some help, so tell me what to change.

(Giving Rep for good rates. Yay!)

T-Bolt> Discharge on Zone. I use this set on a regular basis, you want power. And paired with Gengar who resists his major weaknesses, he can take out quite a few Pkmn before death.

Looks pretty good, but if you want to pack more power choose T-bolt like Matt said and have Zone hold a life orb. That is, only if you want more power. Mamoswine is okay, but I find SubMamo's not very good. It could be replaced with Avalanche, Physical+Twice the power if Mamo attacks after the foe. Just my two cents though.

Okay, there are a few thingies I noticed

Mamoswine - Switch the Speed Evs with the HP Evs for very bulkyness.

Magnezone - Again, use Thunderbolt over Discharge.

Gengar- I see a large Deoxys-E weakness, so use Timid for ability to out-speed it.

Hope I helped!

I pretty much disagree with what about everybody else has said. Taking out Mamoswine's speed EVs is going to get it outsped by Suicune and the likes. That's really pathetic lol. You don't need all of that speed, but 80 base speed shouldn't be totally neglected.

I actually think you should keep Discharge because your team is REALLY slow. Take out scarfgar (who is only for revenge killing and not hurting anything anyays) is the only thing that outspeeds stuff like Porygon-Z (who btw is a really big problem for your team).

LO + Sub is a really bad idea for Mamo, or anything really. You're losing 47.5% of your health in two turns with SR down. That's not reliable at all. I would use Ice Fang over Substitute. Now you aren't walled by stuff like Hippowdon.

Well, LO Deoxys-Speed gives you a LOT of trouble, potentially OHKOing all of your team. If you're not facing Deoxys (say, Suspect on Smogon, or if Deoxys was shoved back in Ubers), then things don't look bad. Your main rock-resist won't last long though (Machamp), and Magnezone can't take on the likes of Tyranitar on the switch-in. (say Earthquake), and DDTar will Quake you before you can Magnet Rise, so be wary of that rocky menace.

Now for something that caught my eye..."HP EVs to make Mamo Bulky!!!" Um, no...tell me Mamoswine's resistances...Poison, the worst attacking type in the metagame? Mamo isn't walling anything except maybe a Crobat. It's weak to Fighting, Fire, Water, Grass, and Steel, the first 3 being rather common in today's metagame. I understand something by the likes of Support Mamoswine (176HP/116atk/20sp.def/196spd), but it's not walling; it's supposed to live through specific attacks to get out its Stealth Rock or Toxic.

However, I mind you that Sub + LO is going to really kill Mamo quickly. It does have its useful merits though of power and protection. If you think he's a weak link, then CB him up and really thrash some things.

But those are my opinions; Dragon attacks are kinda tough to stop as well, but then again, the only Pokemon that can take both sides effectively is Heatran.

they need to give it megahorn already. it'd finally be able to take on cresselia and actually *have* a worthy role. ice shard and eq are so played out it's not even funny =/

i think its obvious what you're missing here. ice punch nosepass is wiggling its way up the ladder, dint u no?

Modest ScarfGar is horribly outdated; use Timid. Getting outsped by things like Jolly ScarfChomp is pretty embarrasing.

Sub AND LO on any Pokemon is a horrible idea. You lose 35% of your health everytime you set up. Mamo has better things to be doing. I use the Blizzard set, but there's always Ice Fang if you want a slightly stronger STAB. If you want to replace Mamo, I'd get something like ScarfTran. Scarftran + ScarfGar have worked for me extremely well; revenge killing a huge chunk of the metagame.

Was talking with Aqui and I might change the following:

ScarfTran>Mamoswine
Porygon2 > Magnezone
CM Jirachi > Suicune

I think that sounds alright... Opinions?

EDIT: Um, I prefer Modest on Gar. It makes a huge difference in what it seems to take down and ScarfChomp is not a threat, nub! Deoxys is so rare, as people are waiting for it to go Uber. The only sets you see are Utility Leads, which Machamp Confuhaxes and proceeds to Payback. If they don't Taunt you, Sub and Confuhax to stall out the Screens.
Vance, Life Orb only hits when you actually hit the opponent. If you miss or don't use an attacking move, you are fine. The set does fail, though. So I'm dropping it.

I am running CMJirachi or I might run another set, but I wanted to retain the Sweeping capability that Suicune had. Anyway, it counters Deoxys well, if I happen to see any before it leaves the metagame. Which it will. Mark my Words.
