Well, I've never really liked Tom Cruise, but this movie just completly raised my liking for him as an actor. The Last Samurai was basically just a version of Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin in movie format; people fought, looked like, etc. etc. just like in SX/RK which I guess shows how much effort they really put forth into making this movie as good as it is. The only problem with this movie for me, was the love plot, I mean, if your going to have romance, you either make it really important or somewhat imporant; because it was like, really low priority during the movie, and it kinda killed the feel, but then again, Tom's character really didn't have much time for love wh...nah too many spoilers. Let's just say, if you like the anime Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin, you'll love this movie; and if you don't like the anime, but like Japan, you'll still love the movie, because it does show you a lot of how life in Japan was in 1876 (when the movie's time period is).

I completely agree with you sean...no I'm serious, absolutly EVERYTHING you just said in that post I think the exact same thing...very much like kenshin (which happens to be my favorite anim?)

Hmm...our ideas are a bit too similar sean...erg
