Woah, I didn't know Olli Olli was on the Nintendo 3DS!? I already have Guacamelee and Woah Dave! on the PS4, but I have always wanted to play SteamWorld Dig! Meh, I think I'll save my money so I can buy Binding of Isaac on PS4. I do really like the idea of console humble bundles though, hope to see more like these in the future.
I have 3DS codes for SteamWorld Dig and OlliOlli, if you want them. c:
I already have them both on Steam, and now on my Wii U, so I hadn't planned on keeping those, lol.
This isn't really one of those cases, though. Considering this is done by NoA and that Nintendo has actually expressed the desire to extend the bundle to other areas, it's not so much that they don't understand how it works so much as there's a lot of tape involved and Humble Bundle may not currently be equipped to handle multi-region support. But I don't really think Nintendo's really at fault here- well, they are in the way of administering the region-lock in the first place, but in this specific instance I think that it's more because this really isn't something that's happened before- either for HB or for any console publisher.
Hi. That sentence you quoted was a joke.
It's fun to make fun of Nintendo for being shitty at implementing anything online.
"Considering most of the bundles we see are already region-free, or ROW copies, it's not entirely surprising to me that a region-locked console would have difficulties implementing an option to get keys for different regions."
^ HB hasn't ever done this before, so no, I don't fault Nintendo for it; I'm glad they decided to put this up at all. And as I said before, even though I'm in the US and I can buy it, I already owned most of them, I only gave them the $10 to support the idea in hopes it would happen again. Further, I don't fault HB; they've never needed to deal with specific regions at or after check-out before, like any other cheap 3rd party site, they've always just walled off Germany/Russia/Japan/etc when it applies and strictly bought ROW keys to resell (such as the case of Saints Row games, as the German versions are heavily censored). I'm not surprised they weren't really "prepared" for it, either.
I don't fault anyone for the way this came out. Well, no, I will continue to complain about Nintendo's ridiculously long and awkward eShop codes. Every dyslexic's nightmare right there. And how overloaded the servers have been for the past couple days, my downloads keep stopping with an 'error' message. In a way, they weren't fully prepared for this, themselves. :v
tl;dr. I will continue to make fun of it, but I don't fault anyone involved.
This is the first time anything like this has ever happened, there's bound to be some hiccups. And
hopefully whenever this happens again in the future, there will be some sort of option for different regions. :)
