The Masterstone

Plot...​

In the world of Spearit, people train themselves and their spiritual monsters, usualy souls of friends who have passed away, to defeat evil creatures, called Dybeasts. Weapons are swords, glass boards with a bumpy metal ball trapped inside, called Cyclobs, flails, kunai and shuriken, and shields.
The main characters (Me and a dog) have just been banned from the city of Astropastis for accidentally summoning a Dybeast with the Master Stone they were entrusted with. While fleeing, Sazuzen (Me) drops the stone, and breaks it. The four pieces create four small stones, one of fire, one of water, one of earth, and one of wind. Sazuzen picks up the Masterstone of Earth, and runs off. The other three rase up unto the sky, and fly across the earth. As soon as the stones are merged, the stone will be double its original power. If two or three stones are merged without their brother(s), the merged stones will break apart and scatter again. The stones must be gathered and merged all at once, or the world of spirits and the world of Spearit will forever seperate. Along the way, Sazuzen and his dog, Panko, a brown speckled dog, meet four other people (whoever joins). They have reason they want the stones merged, perhaps a family member is in their collection of spiritual creatures with memory of their first life, or they don't want to loose a great friend they have met. The group will travel the five continents of Spearit, Windiana Warteris, Fruxearth, Firoka, and Uniteusall to find the four Master Stone pieces, and merge them.

Name: Sazuzen
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Description: Stands at about 5'6 and wears baggy silver pants with holes cut evenly along the back, and a brown and silver striped tee with no logo or visible stitching. He has many gold chains around his neck, and one gold stud on his left ear. He wears red sandals with a red painted wooden stool attached to the bottom, to boost his height about two inches. He wears red metal plates on his arm as shielding.
Personality: A grin is always upon his face, but he doesn't like jokes. He sticks to any strategy, and is always exited, even if it is a tough opponent. In battle his smile vanishes, he shows off his Cyclob skills, and winks twice at his opponent. His friend Tikemperor, his first spiritual creature and fighting master, is always on the battle field, and is summoned by himself.

Description: A grey star shaped creature that can change the number of points it has. It floats around ontop of a green glowing triangle shaped board.
Relation to Character: Friend in Spearit, before he died.
Powers: Able to make things grow from the tiniest speck of dirt.

Name: Seirei
Age: Appears to be 16
Gender: Female
Description: Somewhere along the lines of this, except she's obviously much more humanlike. She's about 5 feet tall, and her skin is quite pale. Her hair is a vivid blue just like in the picture, with two long pigtails that fall over her shoulders. Her eyes are scarlet in colour. Anyways she wears a dress much like the one in the picture, which falls down a little past her knees. She also wears the same cape as in the picture, dark blue gloves, and dark blue boots.
Personality: Seirei has a strong affinity for the dark side of life, as well as a strong belief in the supernatural. (Well that makes sense, considering her name means "spirit".) She's otherwise quite sadistic in nature, which actually is good considering her obscure method of obtaining energy. But on the other hand, she also believes in karma, so she would never hurt a friend. Speaking of friends, she's actually quite friendly, so she gets along well with people she trusts as well as her spiritual monsters. Anyways, another thing to note about Seirei is that she used to be a spiritual monster and was more like a ghost then, so she's still not totally comfortable with being mortal...
Spiritual Creatures: Yamiko, Samakura, Luciel
Weapon Choice: With the powers she has, who needs weapons? Besides, she's not really a weapon lover...
Powers: Seirei has certain powers of darkness, most notably the ability to summon black flames and create a small field of darkness around herself. But in order to keep these powers, she has to use a third ability she has: the ability to steal energy from others, kind of like a psychic vampire. And on the downside, she's very sensitive to sunlight...

Spiritual Monsters:

Name: Yamiko
Gender: Female
Description: click here (she's about six inches tall)
Relation to Seirei: Seirei was originally a Spiritual Monster, and Yamiko was a human. Yamiko was also the trainer of Seirei as well as Samakura and Luciel. But a curse put upon her by her great-grandmother caused Yamiko and Seirei to switch their statuses...
Powers: Yamiko has an attack consisting of an energy beam that fires a bunch of stars, but she more frequently uses telekinesis, a power she had even as a human. Also, she has a telepathic bond with Seirei and the other two Spiritual Monsters.

Name: Samakura
Gender: Female
Description: click here (she's about two feet tall)
Relation to Seirei: She doesn't have a relation to Seirei--instead to Yamiko. She holds the spirit of Yamiko's mother, who died shortly after Yamiko was born.
Powers: Samakura doesn't have very many special abilities at all--mostly she just uses her katana in battle. But, since she is flower-based, she can absorb energy from the sun (if it's out and bright enough). If she stores enough energy, she can fire light blasts from her katana as well. Also, Samakura can look at the sun without being blinded, but she has very poor night vision. (As a result, she and Seirei sometimes don't get along very well...)

Name: Luciel
Gender: Female
Description: click here (She's about four feet tall, and though you can't see in the picture, her wings are actually like holly leaves, with berries and everything...)
Relation to Seirei: Luciel and Seirei were best friends when Seirei was still a Spiritual Monster.
Powers: Uses ice magic. Most notable of her abilities are freezing things, summoning blizzards, and transfering her own energy to others to heal them. (That last one's the opposite of one of Seirei's abilities!) And that last ability is the only one she can use without her staff. Also, Luciel can withstand extremely cold temperatures easily, but can't stand high temperatures at all.

Yeah, I tried to tone down all the powers as much as possible... Well, considering one of the Spiriual Monsters has close to no special abilities, it might be okay for rest...

Name: Haru Takamine
Age: 14
Gender: Male

Description: He has black hair with red tipps, held into spikes with a pair of goggles. He also has greyish eyes, but dont mistake him for a blind person, he can see above perfectly. He also Wears a black shirt and big puffy(samurai like) pants that he can rip away to reveal a pair of black jeans if the situation calls for it. He wears what appear to be slippers and allow him to walk silently. He also wears a pair of wooden sandals from time to time(the ones with the two blocks holding them up. Think samurai Champloo or Jiraiya from Naruto) He also has a katana at his left side and has a throwing weapon bag on his right leg, below the samurai pants. He may wear a scarf to hide his face from time to time. Katana may be replaced with a practice sword while in public during the day.
Personality: He is calm and kind, but dose have that agressive side. He wil protect those he cares for with his life and will die for those he cares for if needed. He has a strong sence of honor and will not fight an unarmed opponent, no matter if they are good or evil. He practices dayly with kinozuki. Haru Also likes to cook for any friends he has.

Spiritual Creatures: Kinozuki Hyuu, Kyu
Weapon Choice: Swords and throwing weapons(kunai/shuriken)
Powers?: Can create spirit blades/daggers/whips from his hands, or coat his weapons in spiritual energy. He also has the ability to see the spirits of people and animals long gone.

Spiritual Monster Name: Kinozuki Hyuu
Gender: Female
Description: A ghostly maid who has watched over Haru for years. She wears the usual maid's outfit, consisting of a black dress, a white hair piece and aipron with a small pouch, which carries spiritual objects. She has a faint brown hair and blue eyes. She has chosen to stay human rather than become an anmial, as to continue to serve haru.
Relation to Character: His former maid
Powers: Ghostly abilities such as temporary possesion, the ability to walk through walls, and the ability to make objects levitate. She also can become physical for shorts amount of time, alowing her to practice wth "Master Haru" as she calls him.

Spiritual Monster Name: Kyu (pronounced k-you)
Gender: Male
Description: A red tiger with flames erupting like a mane around his head, from the tip of his tail, and paws.
Relation to Character: His younger brother who died in a fire when they were bolth young, this was also the fire that killed kinozuki who was trying to save Kyu.
Powers: Kyu can control and manipulate small flames still not able to control large fires, such as burning buildings or vehicles. He can only manipulate things such as pan fires, or camp fires.

 

[Ninja Paladin]

Name: Guregu
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Description: Standing at 5' 9" he wears a ninja's uniform (full kit except headover, also he waers long Tabi boots) unadorned without any clan markings, his lower face is always covered but the rest of his face is not. His clan tore itself apart and he stands alone now except for Renar and Nui. His hair is brown and his eyes are brown with a blue rim around the outside.
Personality: Seemingly cold until he gets to know peole, he will fight for what he believes is right. A ninja of honour, he will give his own life to save another.
Spiritual Creatures: Renar and Nui
Weapon Choice: Kunai & double edged Kunai
Powers?: Limited Pre-Cognition, he will occasionally foresee things before they happen and in battle it can save his life.

Spiritual Monster Name: Renar
Gender: Male
Description: Roughly five foot tall, Renar is seemingly made of shadows and wears red handband of the same material as Guregu's clothing.
Relation to Character: Guregu saved him from a Dybeast six years ago, since then Renar has not left his side and takes the form of a kitten that sleeps in a pouch on Guregu's belt.
Powers: Stealth and ability to become anothers shadow to attack them from there.

Spiritual Monster Name: Nui
Gender: Female
Description: A one foot tall fairy that wears a dress of autumn leaves to match her red hair.
Relation to Character: Attracted to Guregu but viewed more as family by him.
Powers: Healing kiss

Meh count me in and I'll tweak as needed but they mainly rely on working as a time against their enemy instead of each tackling one each. Nui normally distracts them while Renar and Guregu do the fighting.

Gender:Male
Description: Jason stands at about 5 feet, his hair pulled back into a pony tail but his hair spikes outwards. He wears a small and kinda grey jacket with dark green lines on the edges, black high water pants that has a small bag raped around it which he uses to store his items. He has tanish skin and wears dark blue sandals (Think of Shikamaru from Naruto).
Personality:Jason is very laid back, he doesn't like to do much but lie down and relax. But he isn't always lazy, at times he will be active and will do something besides sleeping. He is very smart and always thinks three steps ahead. He doesn't care who he hangs around as long as they don't start to irritate him, he is mostly negative but can be a hole different person when he feels like it.
Spirit creatures:Sharu, Minu
Weapon of choice:A few Kunai, that are rarely used by Jason.
Power:Ability to stretch and control shadows length,form and size. But, He can not stretch his shadow too far, the minimal length of his shadow is thirty feet. (If you don't want me to have this power just tell me, I can think of other powers.)

Spiritual monsters
1.Name:Sharu
Gender:Male
Description:A pitch black creature, with a white diamond on it's fore head that looks to be related to an owl.
Relation to character:Sharu was one day very sick and injured, and while Jason was out exploring, he found this creature and helped it recover.
Power:Sharu can fuse together with a shadow and manipulate someone's shadow. Lets say if Sharu pecked someone else's shadow, then the person who owned that shadow would feal the peck.

2.Name:Minu
Gender:Female
Description:Minu is a colorful creature that has a long tail that looks like a paint brush, long ears, and short whiskers.
Relation to character: Minu is a type of creature that has been passed down through Jason's family for years.
Power: Minu can draw a picture on the ground with it's tail and when she is finished, she can bring the picture to life.

Sazuzen ran down the rocky road with the Masterstone of earth still clutched in his hands. He ran on and on, never stopping for a passerby, finishing battles as quickly as possible. Noone was behind him, but he ran on anyway. Soon, he came across a village in Fruxearth, called Anataria. It was a very large village, with about six-hundred people. He continued to run through, however, he bumped into a woman in her late teens, wearing a lot of dark blue. "Sorry miss" He said. He stopped to wait for an answer.

The girl Sazuzen bumped into turned around to face him. She was holding what looked like a cross between a green cat and a fairy in her hands.
"Oh, that is what I get for being here..." the girl named Seirei muttered.
"Yeah, sorry again..." Sazuzen repeated, not being able to stifle a grin. But then he glimpsed the fairy-thing Seirei was holding.
Seirei looked from Sazuzen to Yamiko, then back to Sazuzen.
"Yes, I know," Seirei commented, "people always comment on Yamiko being tiny..."
"Yamiko?" Sazuzen questioned.
"Yes, I know it's an odd name, but she used to be human," Seirei replied, sounding as though she had said this a thousand times already. "And I used to be a Spiritual Monster. Some strange force suddenly caused us to sort of switch."
Sazuzen rolled his eyes. "Don't tell me this was because of the Master Stone splitting..."
But this was not the response Seirei expected from most people...
"The Master Stone? Oh, I heard of that... I even saw one of its pieces fly off somewhere. But anyways, Yamiko and I always thought our switch was caused by a curse she was under--but really, can the Master Stone cause such drastic changes?"

There was a pause.
"...Then perhaps finding the stone's pieces can at least help return Yamiko and me back to normal..." Seirei finally said, turning her back on Sazuzen and turning to her other Spiritual Monsters. "I can't stand being mortal much longer. You see, when I was a Spiritual Monster, I was really a ghost."
"Hey, Seirei!" The Spirit Monster Samakura said to Seirei. "Maybe we can all travel together in this quest! You know, all of us and Sazuzen."
"I don't know," Luciel, the othe Spiritual Monster, said to Samakura. "Do you think he'll want to? Do you think Seirei will want to?"
"I might accept if he does," Seirei whispered to Luciel and Samakura, though Sazuzen could hear what she was saying.

Jason was napping next to the window of a nearby house when he was woken up by the sound of people and running. "Man, can't anyone get any sleep around here." Said Jason while still pretty sleepy. He then looked out the window and saw two people talking. *Wasn't I supposed to do something today? Oh well.* Thought Jason. "Jason, get down here and do your CHORES!" Yelled Jason's mother. Hearing the foot steps of his mother Jason began to get up. "Oh no, I am not doing chores." Jason then looked around outside the window to make sure no one was walking by. Then, he jumped out of the window and landed right in front of the two people who seemed to be talking. "Uh, sorry guys, i'm in a." Jason quickly ended his sentence , seeing his mother looking out the window. Jason then rushed behind the boy since he was closer, and his shadow was more similar to Jason's. After a while, Jason's mom left. "Good thing I didn't get caught. Anyhow, who are you guys?" Jason then remembered what he heard that the girl had seen a piece of the master stone. Jason then spoke up again. "Oh yea, I saw one too, I believe that it went north."

IC: I was doing my daily chores, which were minimal as kinozuki had done most of the work for me. All I was required to do was simply polish my blade, and do the few dishes I was required to. My 'brother' kyu did not eat, as he was now a spiritual creature. Kinozuki did not either, also being spiritual in nature. After I had completed those, I desided to go into town. I was running low on supplies for making food. I closed the sliding door behind me to the dojo where I lived, I rarely had students as my father, the previous owner, was dead. Many thought I would not be able to follow in his footsteps and be as great a swordsman as him. I sighed and turned, stopping short as a tiger with flames erupting from its tail, paws, and neck stepped out from behind a wall. "Hey kyu" I said simply, sighing and walking out and past him. "Running low on food again?" he asked simply, walking next to me. "Afraid so brother" I said, walking along the road that led to town, unlike most homes we lived just outside town, as our last home was destroyed in a fire started by a neighbor's house. It was this fire that had caused kyu's and kinozuki's deaths.

OOC: Godmodding is having another character being the main focus of a post. Simply taking minor control of another person's character is caled bunnying, and is only prohibited in RPGs that have a "no bunnying" rule. I suppose I could eliminate some of Sazuzen's dialogue, though.

OOC: Controlling someone elses character in anyway without their prior consent is god modding... Any RPer worth their salt knows that, it makes dialogues hard to do but if you want to do something like that then agree via PM first. Sorry guys just the RP mod and RP designer in me coming out ^_^

A ninja looks down from the hills, his features obscured by the small shadow of a fairy floating just above his head. A soft purr comes from his belt and a chuckles breaks unexpectedly from the ninja's mouth. He looks down on Sazuzen and glares, tailing the fast boy was hard enough with out all these extra bodies to watch. He sighes softly and rests his back against a nearby lone tree, his eyes locked on the boy.

OOC: Any comments on that? I know it's short but I have no need to introduce my character to the rest of the cast yet.

Sazuzen had just finished talking to Seirei and Jason about the Masterstone, when he overheard a man talking to his brother. He looked over and knew his hypothisis was correct as the person the man was talking to was indeed a spiritual monster. Panko started to bark. "Bow wow!" he yelped, and ran toward the pair. Sazuzen and his new friends ran after Panko. "Sorry" Sazuzen said, quietly. "Panko is very fond of your friend, there"
He looked down and waited for an answer. Then looked at the stone in his hand. He had a feeling he was supposed to meet these people, like a plot had forced them too...

I continued walking into town, my blade, saiyoshu, at my side. My wooden shoes clacked as we entered the stone section of the street. "You'd best get back, the last time you were in town you set that poor man's cabbage cart on fire..." I muttered to Kyu, taking out a list. "Alright brother, be carefull" he said, nodding and walking back to the dojo. This week I had to get a dozen eggs, a loaf or two of bred, and milk. Not the biggest of lists, but it was then I realised that the meat in the fridge had been smelling slightly funny....so maybe I would get some of that as well. After going to all the shops and carts to get my food, I noticed a few others just standing and talking in the middle of the buzy road, not something one would usualy do. They came closer, their dog running after my brother, and they talked to me. "He is not my friend, he is my brother" I said, nodding down to the boy, turning to see my brother walking back to the dojo. "And it was time I got home....I must get these groceries on ice before they go bad, you are welcome to join me if you wish" I said, smilng and walking back to the dojo.

Seirei was kind of confused as Sazuzen's dog just went running out to the Spiritual Monster. Yeah, sure, Haru was a person with a Spiritual Monster, but what exactly did Panko see in him that made him seem special? Anyways, Seirei decided to follow Sazuzen over to where Haru was, and where the spirit brother Kyu was now walking away from him. Haru was beginning to follow his brother as well.
"Mmm..." Samakura muttered. "Call me strange, but I sense something about that guy... and the Spirit Monster too."
"You're not the psychic one now, are you?" Yamiko said to Samakura, surprised. Samakura, after all, had the least amount of magical ability among Seirei and her Spiritual Monsters.

"Luciel?" Seirei called--the angel-ish Spiritual Monster was running away from the group and towards Haru. "Where are you going?"
"I know what she's doing," Samakura replied. Then she turned to Luciel and ran towards her. "Wait for me!"

"Are they crazy or what?" Yamiko said to Seirei. "They have some nerve to just ask some random guy if he wants to join us. And the Master Stone isn't exactly well-known..."
"I don't know, Yamiko. But I know Luciel quite well. She's not the most nosy of sorts either, yet here she is, doing Samakura business. Maybe, just maybe, they're right about whoever he is."

OOC: Yeah... when you can't control another person's character, bide time by talking amongst your own characters... Simply walking up to Haru and asking "Will you join us?" is too short.

 

[Fakemon_Master]

By the time Sazuzen noticed that the rest of the group were rushing after another creature, he was far behind. He picked up Panko and ran after them. He bumped into several villagers and tripped over a log, but otherwise, caught up just fine. He was happy that a large group would be joining him, as it was boring traveling alone. He still felt like some sort of plot in the world forced them together, but other than that, he was the happiest person alive. And he didn't have the slightest clue why.

As Jason noticed everyone else just talking, He dicided to go to a near by tree and take a nap. "I wonder if we are actually going to look for the master stone, Should I tell them that my spiritual creature is already fallowing one of the pieces? Oh well, Sharu will give me the signal once the piece come's to a stop." Just then, a spark of shadow quickly dhot up into the sky, though very faint, Jason knew that it was the signal. Jason got up and started walking up to the group. "Yea, hey guy's, my spiritual creature fused with the shadow of one of piece's of the masterstone because it thought it was suspicios and well, I just got the signal from him and it is that way." Said Jason while pointing northeast into a forest. "So, I don't know if we are gunna go or just stand here and talk but I need to get to my spiritual creature so i'm going." Jason started walking into the forest that the signal came from and then yelled. "Minu, come on we have to go!" Just then a spiritual creature came out from the tree's and landed on Jason's right shoulder. "Ok, Minu, make sure you leave a path of shadow's that way we can come back here ok." Minu noded and jumped onto the grass and started draging it's tail around the grass leaving a trail of shadow's. "Ok, well guy's are you coming?" Asked Jason while turning his head to look at the group of people that he met.

 

[Ninja Paladin]

The ninja curses softly, standing up right again. He motions for the fairy to vanish, she nods and vanishes but not before kissing his cheek. He sighes softly then leaps down the hillside, amazed no-one had spotted him up there and then halfway down the hill. He stops suddenly as the direction their all moving is towards him, the soft purr from his pouch stops suddenly. Frozen completely still and silent he waits for them to move away from his direction, hoping the very gap through which he can see them, won't give him away. Cursing himself mentally then stopping as a single moment of time passes through his mind.

Quickly leaping frowards, he looks over his shoulder to catch the fading stare of some vanishing thing. Then looking forward he curses again, his shoulder slamming into the corner of a building. Still spinning he hits the floor and bounces into a nearby tree, looking up through the slight haze at the sudden glances in his direction one word leaves his mouth before he faints, blood rolling down his left shoulder from the impact with the building. That one word was.
"Damn."

 

[Fakemon_Master]

Everyone stopped. Every member of the current gang and Haru. They instantly noticed the ninja. Sazuzen was the first to rush after the fallen person, followed by Panko. He put his index and middle fingers together and chanted the words "Open the seal; Bring it into the world" to let a spiritual creature through a hole in its realm to the "real world", even though the spirit world was just as real as his own. A tall brown figure stepped through, followed by a grey star on what appeared to be an energy shield, but wasnt. Tikemper and Futooik. Futooik quickly realized what was going on, as did Tikemper. Futooik grew a herb that could help stop bloodflow, while Tikemper helped the man's shoulder grow better. Sazuzen hoped the man would wake soon.

"Er, if you guys don't mind," Seirei said to Sazuzen and his Spiritual Monsters, "I'm going to go with Jason. It seems the two of you are getting along quite well, and Yamiko and I are not healers."
Seirei didn't even bother to wait for a response, nor did she care how Sazuzen and the ninja felt about her decision. As for Samakura and Luciel... well, Yamiko had a telepathic bond with them, so Seirei could have a way of knowing where all her Spiritual Monsters were at all times. So with that, she ran off towards the forest, little Yamiko riding along in her hands.

"Ohh, I hate running..." Seirei muttered as she ran along far behind Jason.
I believe that's my cue? Yamiko said telepathically to Seirei. Then she activated her other psychic ability. So Seirei was lifted up into the air telekinetically, Yamiko still in her hands. But, it was Seirei who got to control where she "flew". The two had quite a bit of experience with their telepathy, to the point where Yamiko could sort of temporarily transfer her powers to Seirei.

Within a few moments, Seirei and Yamiko were flying directly over Jason, following him into the forest after the Spiritual Monster Sharu.

I sighed, turning and walking back to my dojo. "anyone that wishes to follow can" I said, looking back and continuing to walk, turing to face what was infront of me again. I saw kyu sleeping on the bridge over a small pond in the front yard, a few koi fish swiming around in the pond. I ignored them and walked into the house, leaving the door open for anyone that wished to follow. "Kinozuki, groceries" I said, the ghostly maid quickly floating through a wall and taking the bags. "I will put these away right now" she said happily, taking them off to the kitchen. In truth there had been something between the two, but the fire had robbed him of that, she on the other hand felt otherwise. She still gave him the playfull pinch or wink every now and then, although he could do nothing to stop her. He just simply smiled whenever she did this and went on with what he was doing.
