I've noticed a huge thing in the metagame, that really makes me wonder about some of the better players here.
I myself have seen many different combinations of Pokemon on teams, and even slight modifications of EV spreads and movesets.
However, I have not really ever seen an entirely offbeat team. A team that at first glance is a n00bish team, but suddenly you battle it and... gg.
What are your thoughts on the current monotony of the metagame? Have you ever used/battled a radically different Pokemon from it's traditional role (that actually worked)?
I plan on building a database of workable unconventional movesets, such as PressureDactyl and CBBlissey. And CBBlissey does work. Just imagine my brother's surprise as he switches in his (somewhat battered) Infernape, only to have it fall to Earthquake.
