What is at 0x3xxxxx in Emerald because currently there's a lot of free space there and it's where I'm putting my events but it's not free space in a clean Emerald.

What's weird is I'll be doing events then I'll find that the free space ends for a few hundred bytes then starts again but then later after I make some other changes he areas which didn't have free space are now free. Why is information being deleted?

Haven''t come across any bugs caused by it, the game works fine but it's strange how there is so much free space there and new space keeps appearing.

    Any ideas?

A ton of it is repeating bytes. That isn't free space, you're right. I'll bet something will be bugged if you look hard enough. In the top of the script, use #freespace 0xFF and that will probably show you that those spaces aren't FF.

They are free space though, it's FF in a hex editor.

That refers to 00's not being true free space bytes, I've already done the changes in that post. These are FF bytes and since it's not free in a clean ROM it means something that was there has now been repointed to somewhere else and teh old data replaced with FF. I'll look into this further by making those bytes FF in a clean ROM and seeing what changes.

    Update:

Replacing those bytes with FF in a clean ROM causes the tileset data to all be messed up, some maps don't even open up. Since I have no problems whatsoever with maps and tiles in my hack I can assume using the free space there is fine.

Yes I did. I think it's to do with maps too.
