Boco Pulls the Express
Gordon is a big engine that is capable of pulling a train of at least 5 coaches. He always pulls the Express and is known to Sir Topham Hatt as the ?Top Engine,? or so he says. But one thing is hates is stuck-up diesels telling him there better than him.
Gordon at the station one day, and noticed BoCo resting on a siding. ?Wake up you!? grumbled Gordon. ?This is no place to sleep! We must pull trains through these stations and we don?t smelly diesels hogging up all the space!? BoCo awoken and was cross. ?Gordon, I have to rest here until Edward comes back with his goods train? Boco said. ?I don?t care? he replied. ?You diesels think your all superior to me. Well, your not. Your all smelly and leak of oil. You couldn?t pull the Express even if your buffers depeneded on it!? grumbled Gordon. ?Is that a challenge?? said BoCo crossly. ?No? Gordon said, and puffed away. ?Hmpf, I don?t think I?m superior, but I might be able to pull the express as good as him? said BoCo. His driver agreed.
One morning, Gordon was sulking in the shed and was complaining about his breaks. He was examined and it was later discovered that Gordon?s breaks were completely snapped off and needed to be fixed. Sir Topham Hatt went to see him. ?Gordon, since you?ll be at the works, BoCo will pull the express. Shockingly, Gordon replied, ?No sir! Why can?t Henry or James do it?? ?Because James is off with a goods trains and Hnery is at the Harbor.? Sir Topham Hatt said. ?Now, I must find BoCo and tell him the good news.? He got in his car and went to the diesel shed. BoCo was there resting with the other diesels. ?BoCo? said Sir Topham Hatt. What now Gordon?.? He said drowsily. ?No, it?s me Sir Topham Hatt. I have great news! Gordon needs to go to the works to be mended so I?m leaving you up to the job of pulling the Express.? ?That?s great!? said BoCo, and he headed for the station.
The passengers were in awe after finding out a diesel had to pull the train, but they agreed to be kind and got in the coaches. BoCo pulled the Express out of the station. The passengers were impressed! He went up Gordon?s hill with stride and down it with confidence. He past by Farmer Cole and Terrence. ?You go BoCo!? said Terrence. The passengers loved how smooth BoCo went, and they enjoyed how nice his breaking was. ?This feels great!? said BoCo. He arrived at the station to drop off the passengers and they thanked him. ?Your very welcome? he replied, and went to the sheds. He saw Gordon mended with new brakes, and told him how good it was. ?I?m sorry BoCo? said Gordon. ?Maybe I was wrong, diesels can do things as well as me, I just have give them a chance.? BoCo agreed, and went to the Diesel shed to rest. He now knows that he is a really useful engine. He closed his eyes, and dreamt about pulling the express again someday.
