Might as well put up my first poem.I did this sometime last month.Funny that that's the first time I wrote a poem but I've always loved poetry.
Though We Have Won
A battle is a fight and not a war,
We charge together into the enemy,
I cry in pain, you cry in rage,
I think of death, you think of glory,
Though we are one the same side we are not,
Two different perspectives,one side,
You charge again,I fall back,
Our wounds are equal but our pains are different,
I realize the cost of it as we approach victory,
The cost has all but left your mind,
You wear a crimson coat of victory,
I wear a crimson coat of blood,
So alike yet so different,
And still,We fight for the same thing,
We have won and you stand tall and proud,
We have won and I stand low and sad,
Tears of sorrow streak my cheeks like blood,
Tears of joy shine like a bright light in your eyes,
With you I have won, without you I have lost,
No matter what happens I cannot win this fight.
A smile goes across your face as you look down upon me,
A look ashamed and with that the battle is truely done,
Though we have won in truth,no matter what,I lose.
