    /THUMB NAIL/
Where were you way back when
The day no-one would be my friend
    I never realized
    What a dollar a day
    would make you say

    What if I didn't have
    what I always got
    what if my brain
    slowly turned to rot
    Oh what would you say
    all these wonderful ~days~

    I haven't got the time
to take a chance, to realize
    that those "o" wonderful days
    had never, ~been~

Where were you way back when
The day no-one would be my friend
    I never realized

    That to live
    I had to learn
    learn the hardest ~way~

If you had not mentioned that it was a song, it could have worked both ways as a poem and a song, but I guess in a way all songs are poems in some way or another.

With this, it seems someone was in a relationship but they were being used, and left to suffer when noone was there for comfort.

It reminds me of what general working relationships are, usually one would have to go through a few to know what to expect and what can potentially happen with certain people. Great song ^^.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. You had it right on the nail too, it is about one person finally realizing that most his life his "friends" were just using him. Thanks rep up.
