The Thursday Next and Nursery Crimes series are both by Jasper Fforde and crossover here and there, so I put them in the same topic. Each is awesome in their own right. They're likely my favourite series of books ever. <3

    Thursday Next

A currently five book series with another due out in the next year or two, the TN novels are centered around literary detective Thursday Next (no jokes, please). Set in an alternate universe of Great Britain in the late 80s and eventually modern times, Thursday's world has some major differences from our own. Time-traveling, cloning, and once-extinct pets are common, and literature is taken much more seriously. Plagiarism, falsifying Shakespearean works, and other such acts are all crimes handled by the SpecOps 27 division (with force, when needed).

Thursday is part of that division and soon learns to jump into the books and interact with the characters themselves. In the first book, when she learns of this skill, she has to save Jane Eyre from being ripped right out of her own book! In the rest of the series, much more crazy things start to happen: She is employed as a Jursifiction agent, in training under Mrs. Havisham, to work inside Book World. I won't spoil the rest of the series, but the entire series keeps you hooked with many witty little jokes and plenty of plot twists and turns.

On a random note, one of the most popular TV shows is Name That Fruit!
On a second random note, Thursday's father is never named despite his many appearances and. her mother is named Wednesday...
    Spoiler:

    Nursery Crimes

In the shorter Nursery Crimes series (two out, a third a possibility.), the stories center around Nursery Crimes Investigator Jack Spratt, his new partner Mary Mary, their small motley crew, and the seedy underbelly of the Nursery Rhyme world. From discovering who killed Humpty Dumpty and preventing a multifaceted terrorist attack, to finding a mysterious forth bear in the woods who may have killed Little Red and preventing exploding vegetables from claiming even more lives, they've got their hands full.

On a random note here, please don't shoot me for a shorter NC summery. XD

Both are really fun series and worth checking out. My summaries don't really do them justice, so make sure you go look at them! The characters are fun, the plots exciting, and the pacing and setting are awesome. <3

    Soo, anyone here read them?
